Glowing trees at night with Climates of Tamriel enabled

There seems to be an issue with glowing blueish trees at night when using Climates of Tamriel. Check out this example:

Without CoT:

I would ask in the CoT thread but it is closed. If you search the CoT thread, it has been reported a few times. Just wondering, since this mod is so popular, if there is a known workaround for this? Or should we wait for v3 of CoT due at the end of the month?

Looking at those two pictures, I wouldn't say the trees further away are glowing. I'd say the trees that are closer, are darker. It looks like the trees in COT that are low down/nearer do not have snow on them.

Can you confirm?

No, I dont think so. It definitely has to do with CoT. At night, the distant LOD trees seem to glow. Even with SOF disabled. No ENB used either. CoT makes the nights darker and I guess doesnt make the distant trees darker. Would have thought more people would know about this as it is a pretty popular mod.

I use CoT and there are no glowing trees. hmm. Did you try to disable all non-essentiel mods and load into game?

It kinda looks like half of the trees are vanilla (snow covered) and the trees near your char are changed by CoT.

Did you changed ugrids?

This is what I see with CoT:

No change to uigrids. Hmmm, it might be just during certain weather? Are you able to force an aurora? The few times I have seen this and also reported by others, there was an aurora. Do you have some ini tweak in place that never makes trees go low LOD at a distance?

Here is another user reporting the same thing with a screenshot (doesnt look like there is an aurora in this one, though):

it's nothing related with COT, it's a texture problem, i had this when using SFO 1.75 summer edit + lush trees, only some of the trees were purple . are you using any aspen mod or other trees overhaul than SFO but with SFO installed?

today i'm using last COT + RLO + SFO .179 + skyrim hd 2k and all is fine

No other tree mods or SFO was installed in those shots. All that was loaded when I took those screenshots above were the three main game ESMs and CoT. That's it. Traveled to Windhelm, waited, set the weather and took the shot.

Hmmm, maybe its the 2K texture pack that makes it work? It says it has new LOD textures for landscapes and trees. I will try it out. By the way, that is a nice screenshot!

I'm convinced it is only under certain weather conditions. I went to windhelm, did fw 81a and the distant trees were fine. Then light snow started and I watched as the trees in the distance began to stand out more and more as the storm progressed. Check these out, its not even night time and you can tell:

Also, under an aurora is really bad.
