warlordmordrid
Hey all, Weirdest thing, I can load ck no problem, I can save mods no problem, and I can reopen saved mods no problem. But anytime that I try to edit anything that directly affects Skyrim.esm, such as editing a world space, adding an item to a barrel, etc. it doesn't save. Such as, i put a ring that I made into Farengar's chest, and press okay. If i reopen the chest dialog immediately after, its not there. If i try to change perk trees, changes won't save. If I try to add a cave outside Helgen, it doesn't show up. Even when i do any of these things, my mod has no asterisk, indicating unsaved changes were made. It almost acts like the skyrim.esm file is read only and won't accept any changes...but its not. I'm pulling my hair out on this. Thanks all! Cheers! warlordmordrid
Oh, to add to this...I made a new mod....only had skyrim and update opened, nothing. Still will not save changes. Files are fine. Active mods set active. Thanks!
warlordmordrid
Anyone? I have found similar problems in these forums and a couple of others but a fix action was not mentioned :( Does anyone know what this is or even how to fix it? Cheers! VectorPlexus
ESMs are in fact read only... when you press save what happens? does it allow you to save a new ESP? or not?
warlordmordrid
Not at all...it doesnt even record the changes in the CK...whatever i change that deals with the skyrim.esm file it doesn't update nor save. Best example is i change a silver ring's price to be 100 gold. The minute i press okay and immediately reopen the ring's property menu again, it's reverted back to original price. It acts like I'm pressing cancel instead of okay/save. Im totally at a loss :(
myztikrice
You have to save it as an esp file. You can't edit the esm
warlordmordrid
Okay, maybe im not explaining this correctly...sorry.... If i put a steel chest armor out in the middle of a field, it wont update. I click, i drag the armor to the render window, i drop it, nothing happens. I change the stats of the chest armor in the properties menu and push okay, if i reopen the properties menu the changes are reverted back to original stats. The ck will not save anything because it acts like i havent made any changes. Changes dont happen. If i make a completely new item, either from scratch or by duplicating, i can save the mod. No problem. If i modify anything with skyrim, update, dawnguard, hearthfire, and/or dragonborn ESMs they will not allow me to save changes. They wont even update in the CK. warlordmordrid
This has nothing to do with saving to an esm...i just want to make a normal esp modifying existing armor and weapons....
