Killa162
[see the attached picture.] So my issue is, some mods have those red categories, and it says "A filter has been applied. The treeview contents is fossilized and will not adjust structure to changes. Please remove or re-apply the filter if necessary". And I have redone the QuickAutoClean twice on Cutting Room Floor and its the same. I googled this phrase and routed me to a ~400 page "FO4Edit" thread on like page 375~ or something. But peoples replies were quoted, upon quoted upon quoted.... And just jumping straight into a 300 page conversation isn't always the best. Not to mention the jist I got out of it was, there was an old way of doing it and the new way, and the developer disabled the old way because people were doing it wrong, etc etc.Well its 2020, and I'm using SSEEdit and getting the same issue. And the "new" way is very automated, and has cleaned all my other mods. But this isn't the only mod that has red sections and says this message. So I'm not exactly sure whats happening...The last time I played modded Skyrim was before SE was even a thought in Todd's mind. And NMM was the tool back then and I played with VERY FEW mods so I never had issues with needing a loader... and edits.. etc.So can anyone explain this message and tell me if I can ignore it? OR how do I properly apply a filter that fixes all the red issues?
Pickysaurus
I'll move this to the Skyrim forum as it seems to be unrelated to Vortex.

saurusmaximus
My first question is: why are you cleaning CRF? Arthmoor has already taken care of any errors in that mod, as the results of your cleaning show. Don't clean other people's mods unless the mod author explicitly tells you it's ok to do so; and in truth, if an author does tell you that, they really should do it themselves before releasing their mod in the first place. For the message you asked about, the TL;DR is: don't worry about it.My understanding is (and somebody correct me if I'm wrong) that message is simply telling you that the results of the filter being applied (which xedit does automatically when cleaning) can't be altered once they are displayed. In other words, if the info you are looking for isn't displayed the way you want, you have to apply a new filter and try again. The red you are seeing on the left side is xedit showing you conflicts that it has detected between CRF and the game itself. If you click on the individual records, you'll see that CRF is simply overriding the existing game records. Again, nothing to worry about.
