I dont like how now when I add a mod the mod comes up as part of some modding subgroup like Environment. I dont like it breaking down like that and it should default into the old mode. Only add features to make things easier to use. Keep it simple and dont make it cute.

Its a great tool. Also talk to the creators of Wrye Bash and see if you can more easily make the two work together.

I updated to 44.1 earlier and just now reopened NMM for the first time since updating, and I not only got spammed with update messages to which I had to click "no" many, many times, but I am also getting this "bug" described in the quote above. I now have about 7 aMidianBorn Book of Silences and three remove interior fog v2s, among other things. When I updated earlier, it slipped my mind that my settings were all reset, causing this mess. I've turned off those settings now, but is there a way to revert the names of the mods in the list back to what they were? Or do I just need to restart it? NMM takes a long time to load up, so I will not be closing it for some time to test this. Locked up on mod delete, so had to restart it, funny enough. Now I know that restarting doesn't fix the names.

That aside, please consider adding the option to display the name of the file rather than the name of the mod... I tend to repackage and rename mods often, as well as the whole multiple patches/versions of mods with different names thing, and I'd prefer to see the exact name of the archive versus the name of the mod, which might not even match (tsk tsk authors). I want NMM to be simple.. no renaming, no auto-sorting, no throwing things in a collapsed category... now all my files that begin with "_" (meant to sort them at the very top of the list on purpose) are now at the bottom (but only half the time for some reason).

In response to post #7514552. #7514754 is also a reply to the same post.

You must be using something else... Or you are being sarcastic because right click context menus have been added, NMM is one of, if not, the most user friendly manager out there. Plus, this isn't meant to be a utility like Wrye, it's a mod manager. That is probably why it is called the Nexus Mod Manager.

Because of the comments I've read, I held back updating my Manager but what the hell, right? So far, no mods are duplicated. Followed the advice of uninstalling NMM first before installing the new one. Thanks for the hotfix!

In response to post #7513318.

Ohhh I see. This is common in armor mods (in my case, a Ranger armor - brown color). It has an optional Black Texture Replacer, so I DL'd the Black Texture, but I didn't like it, so I decided to remove the texture replacer.

When I went back to the original color of the armor mod (brown), it became violet. O_O
