[Lore]Why no ancient nord and skyforge blunt weapons?

Unless you use a mod, the only blunt weapon in the game is the mace, and that's basically an axe with blades pointing in multiple directions out from the shaft.

 

This is just a WAG, but:

I'll bet the ancient nords didn't have maces (it's a relatively advanced concept, after all), and the companions don't use them because probably carry the connotation of a half-hearted warrior.

This is the same thought of mine, and it's why there's an ancient armor but not an ancient shield.

But it's so.....restricting for characters with blunt perks.

 

And there's no (cyrodiilic) silver mace too :(
