AlduinWorldEater
I'd prefer something just a tiny bit closer to Morrowind's original design - to me, the eye slots in the Oblivion version look a little...sadface. I think it should look more like -____- and less like :( But that's just the artist in me. :P
wardoggwyllgi
yeah both armors would need retextures, morrowind more than oblivion so you don't end up looking like a golden steely dan with arms.
AlduinWorldEater
yeah both armors would need retextures, morrowind more than oblivion so you don't end up looking like a golden steely dan with arms. If you're talking about the band, I love those guys. If it's some sort of slang...then enlighten me. :P But I agree. The "Eastern" set would need to look tarnished, rusty, and worn. The "Southern" set would need to look brassy, but not as flashy as "Northern" . More subtle and toned-down. To me, it seems that each Dwemeri tribe would have created a suit of armour that would have been terrifying to their enemies, whoever they might have been. The Dunmeri people, who considered the Dwemer to be "heretical abberations", would have been frightened by just about anything the Dwemer made...they simply chose to make their armour out of parts from Centurions and other machine bits, most likely due to the difficulty that a subterranean people would have had navigating Vvardenfell's harsh environments. In Cyrodiil, there really are no ruins, so there's not much of an explanation as to what a tribe of Dwemer would have been doing there - unless they walked, in secret, amongst the other citizens. In Skyrim, the ruins are deep, dimly-lit, and hazardous to navigate...the shiny, flashy golden armour would most likely have been made to reflect what little light was available so that they didn't bump into each other; and its shaping was probably derived from the "faces" that both the Dwemer and the Nords liked to carve into their architecture. That's all for today, class. Tomorrow, we discuss the differences in the architecture of Dwarven automatons based upon location.

wardoggwyllgi
It's also likely that the cyrodiil dwemer armor was taken from early dwemer designs by the invading atmorans, who later adapted it into the imperial armor we know of today. Basically if the dwemer attempted to fight the atmorans like the falmer did they would have given up sooner after all they were never in any danger, but they also would have began improving the armor to be more durable leading to the skyrim variant.in other words the oblivion variant would be the oldest then both the skyrim and morrowind variants were improvements on the design. The more i think about it the more it seems cannon, the oblivion dwarven sword and axe look similar to nordic swords and axes. however ancient nords used comepletely different shaped weapons. while yes elven culture did influence humans the dwarves were isolationist and hated anyone non dwarf. then theres the fact that there were no dwemer robots in cyrodiil or buildings (unless they perviously controlled the imperial city before the alyieds). Also we need the clothing from that dwemer concept picture.

wardoggwyllgi
Would it be possible through a tale of two wastelands type conversion, i mean at this point if im going to get the old dwerven armor from the prrevious 3 games might as well grab some swag as well, like the orrey for a mountain top building next to lakeview manor and wraithguard, keening, and the real sunder... BardicThunder
Fantastic idea, why not also get some artifacts, for example, the dwemer schematics, and the books from morrowind, like divine metaphysics, the puzzle box, and I would like to see some of the old artifacts, like the cylinders and tubes, and I miss the spears, truth be told I miss a lot, but spears I really do miss, and corpus, who doesn't miss corpus?
