Gwyn21
I love drag's mods. They're great. However, every time I use them they clutter up the race menu with a bunch of races I am not gonna play as. They cause horrible neck seams, and I avoid them every time. Also breaks immersion because I look like a literal clone of someone else. Yes, I know. This was common anyway but here I feel they need to be unique because they look so good. Besides looking disorganized of course. I like character creation as vanilla as possible. Is there any way I can make them invisible?
Gwyn21
Also, have a similar problem with FCO and New Vegas Redesigned 3. Though I am using drag's overhauls right now. Edited November 30, 2020 by Gwyn21
madmongo
Edit the mods and remove the Playable flag on each of the new races. If the mods are esm's then you can just create an esp depending on that mod to modify the flags instead of actually editing the original mods. Gonna be honest. Don't got a lot of experience making mods. Just using them. I think I will do the esp. Cause I wanna be able to share it if I make it. madmongo
Yes, you need to do it through the GECK. The GECK is a very un-intuitive, miserable little tool set. For example, to create your ESP, you don't click on File->New like you do for pretty much every other Windows program written in the last couple of decades. Instead, you click on File->Data and check the masters that you want to load. If you plan on releasing this, you will want to do the masters one at a time, so check that master. And here is the part that is completely un-intuitive. That's all you do. The way that you create a new file is that you simply do not select an active file. Click OK and the GECK will load the master file that you want to make changes to. I have often said that the GECK is really a Vault-Tec experiment designed to test modder's frustration levels, but fortunately in this case what you want to do is relatively easy and straightforward. Click on Race on the list on the left side of the GECK. Find the new races that were added by the master file that you are editing. For each one, double-click on the race to bring up its form for editing. Uncheck the box that says Playable, then click on OK. That's it. Repeat for the other races that you don't want to show up. Now to actually create your ESP, just click on File->Save, and the GECK will ask you what you want to name the file. That's it. Unlike most things in the GECK, this is simple and straightforward. Don't forget to make your new ESP active in whatever mod manager you are using.

After setting those specific ones as active. Then saved. Unchecked playable, and now it's all good.
dubiousintent
That is fine for your personal use. But you said you wanted to share/publish the result, and that approach will break the existing ESM and ESP files of both the original and other dependent mods. Which is why you need to make your own ESP, so it "overwrites" those records when "merged" due to it's position in the "load order" giving others a choice. ("Rule of One".) -Dubious-

JimboUK
Yeah load the required masters and don't make any active, when you first save the mod it will ask you to name the new esp, that esp will be reliant on the masters you had loaded.
