Fallout 3 critical crash

I have a group of mods installed. FO3Edit says everything is fine. I even did the FO3MasterUpdate after using FO3 to create a merged patch.

However, any time I try to start fallout, I get the load screens at the start then get hit with

Instruction at 0x00688156 referenced memory at 0x0000001c.
The memory could not be written.

I have no idea why this is happening, or how to fix it.

Though it does not occur with all mods and dlc disabled. Has anyone encountered this before? Or simply know what could be causing it? Troubleshooting 253 mods+dlc would be a long and arduous process.

It seems that you have exceeded the mod limits for the game and the limits for your accessable RAM. The limits for the combination of .esm and .esp are plus or minus 250, depending on your system.

Depending on the mods you have installed, MasterUpdate is not always a good idea.

Orcus2013-hi,

Apart from the limits set to the game. You could also remember the last mod you installed which caused the probs and uninstall that or, uninstall the ones that are not that important now that u have reached the limit.

wella.
