BOB10011001
Forcing longer passwords reduces security. It is not a good thing. That much entropy is absolutely not needed and no one remembers that password. I shouldn't require a third party app to remember my password, especially when I need to use that password outside my browser. As an IT manager: actual, legitimate incompetence. I would never trust these Nexus with payment information. Ever.
Reneer
As an IT manager you should be using a password manager. Also the FBI disagrees with you.

Also, Nexus doesn't get your pay info if you use Paypal

That is such a generic term for literally anything, its hilarious. If you are an "IT Manager" then I'll bet dollars to donuts that you are nowhere near any infosec team who's existence is to protect your systems from intruders.Going on your post here, I'd suggest you approach your own "IT Manager" in 2021 and ask them to give you some training on the most up to date security practices, because your lack of knowledge means that you're not an asset to your company, you're a liability. It's not 1996 any more, get up to date on the latest, most basic, security measures. It ain't hard.
BigBizkit
We understand that longer passwords might be an inconvenience to some, but we're strongly convinced it is to the benefit of the security of our users - for the reasons outlined in this thread already. You can find more information in this news post: https://www.nexusmods.com/news/14163 We suggest using a password manager if you cannot remember your password. Lastly, let me highlight that we do not store payment information.
