Welcome to the first story of the Bard's tale,

Before we begin i'd like everyone to introduce themselves as they will appear in the story,

I Philosopher101 will be actign as your Narator, Dm, Gm, or whatever you woul dlike to call me,

I will also play the part of all NPC personalities, and shall try me best to kill you off (just kidding, kinda)

 

If you have never doen roleplayign over the internet,

This is how it works,

 

The rules are pretty simple, everyoen acts like a diffrent character in the story, and moves the plot along y acting as you choose. If i say three bandits jump out from the bushes, guns a blazing you say....

-I jump behind a rock and wait to slice some necks,

-Draw my sword and wait for them to get close enough,

-Use some magic and say, "flee for your lives for i am Ixmil the sorceerer, none of you shall escapre me..."

 

Some basic notes and rules...

No "god" characters, that's right in this tale there are no heroes who can throwfire balls from their eyes and bolts of lightning from their ass. (come on, mel gibson is a better hero than that and so shoudl you!)

 

Death is Death...Concepts of resurection and reincarnation, are specificlly limited, a pile of dimonds and a clecric can't bring bucky back. Sorry. However you can alsways be a ghost...

 

No mythical,Legendary,"God" oen of a kind weapons or items, if you have magical equipment than logiclly someone else could have one too, unless you worked your butt off to get it. Something none of you have done... Yet

 

And lastly treat this as open mick, if your angry at the situation or some dude, anycomment you make on the forums is considered a comment by your character. If you want to crack a joke use () or "" find something.

On that note lets keep it clean use of c§@p or bas\$³d, or firing S'*t missiles or dropppign the F'bomb won't help your situation to the fantasy natives or the person who plays them (me).

Lets try to keep it clean.

Well you get the idea.

 

Since we have no dice, success is determined by your in-game thinking, play your character well and victory shall be yours.

Ok fine then, i'll just cut to the chase...

 

 

 

Our adventure begins i not in an ancient castle or a long lost hall, but actually at The Goddess bar and grill.

With everyone gathered around philo, hearing more of his bad jokes,

 

Well i think now i've put this off too long so to ge this show on the road i'll set the atmosphere...

And out of nowhere he pulls out a lute and settles himself in his chair,

alright we'll need two more rounds for me frineds here casue this is a long story...

Prolouge: In the aftermath of the second great war that shaked the continets of Bercuda, the lands had been sanctioned into 9 great kingdoms, for nearly 36 centuries an uneasy peace has followed and people have lived ignorant of the dangers outside their walled cities. For Chemistee a wizard of the Liatians his fate shall be intertwined with a group of heroes from Architar, but all of there destiney are written on the pages of the Macgruffin tome.

 

With the disaperance of the dwarves, and with the Orcs adn Goblins finnaly in agreement to gain freedom at teh tip of a sword. Due to the Elves continued search for secrtecs long hidden far away and as the Guilds continue their struggles for suppremacy, one Man sees that which will come to pass. Wishing only to avert events the Propehcy had suggested shall come to pass, this prophecy liek all prophecies is still written in the depths of the Macgruffin Tome.

The place: the kingdom of Architar,

The Time: 12:56 pm, 3572 P2gw

 

The scence is an old tavern, well not really old i mean to say that it's not like cobwebs are covering the entire place or that there is so much dust you can't see the floor, but it feels old. Something in this old pub seemed to give it that arua of a dirty, smelly, bar. And when you think of it most bar's are dirty and smelly.

 

John a gnome, yes a gnome looks around the empty bar a little dia pointed he was expectign a larger crowd but for any performer a crowd of one is more than one enough, he reaches into his bag and withdraws a small flute after playign queitly to himself he clears his throught and begins his story...

 

The song I sing

Will tell the tale

of a cold and wintery day;

Of castle walls

And torchlit halls

And a price men had to pay.

When evil fled

And brave men bled

The Dark One came to stay,

Till men of old

For blood and gold

Stood in his way.

 

But enough of the scence lets focus on our hereoes, the seemingly random people who occupy the tables. All of them have been summoned here, by well who else... an anomyus stranger. Havign ech recieved a letter they have all been asked to come here on this specific day, the letter was singed Allen, a name they will never forget and in the end never want to hear again....

 

As our heroes slowly loose their minds from shear boredom, a traveler comes in buys sevral drinks and asks them all to come over.

 

"I appologize for my tardiness, but i am Allen, and you must be my recruits before we discuss your imenent reward i'd liek to get to know everyone...

From the table an elf with black skin and white hair looks up at Allen.

She says nothing..just continues to clean her long, blood-red nails with a wicked looking knife.

Unpreturbed by his guests energy, Allen continues on.

 

Well anyway, I'm from a organization that deals in intelligence, and scouting, well actually there's no need to butter it up, were spies, and for teh past few years we have had our eyes on a Wizard from Liat, Chemistee. Some time ago he began gathering old atrifacts, and relics from ruins, not something out of teh ordiannary for a Wizard, but he was seen often investigating well know and well cataloged locals. We susspected that it was more than arcane lore he was after. A few months ago our suspicions were confirmed, when he was seen on teh island of Edir. There sources from the Guilds told us that our Wizard was piecing togethor himself a puzzle, and left the island with a key. A BIG key. Our current best guess is that he is after the MacGruffign Tome, maybe to put it in his library, mabe to sell it, but most likely to use it.

 

I need you 4 to Find it...

Logicly before he does.

the door opens and a woman walks in. "hurry up Wildfire we're late". A man walks in behind her. Those by him feel their blood run cold. " sorry I'm late. That last assassin was a little more....durable than the others." the fingers of the gloves he was wearing ended in a cruel looking claw, they were drenched in blood

-out of game-

(the word MacGruffin Tome is a play on words, the term Macgruffin, is a plot device used often in movies, books and sometimes plays, that has a vague signifigance. If you've seen Pulp Fiction thatn the "briefcase" is a Macgruffin. Everybody wants it but nobody really knows what it is, and the audience doen't care.)

 

-In game-

Supposedly the Macgruffin Tome contains the sumation of all knowledge, everyperson who had possed it can magiclly place everything they know into it. If Chemistee gets it, then he will be able to record all is work, for future generations and he will have the acummulative Lore of a Million Mages.

 

As for the key, we have no idea.

All we know is that it's about 4 meters long and he explicatly left it on Edir.
