tm2dragon
Not sure WHICH mod caused the issue to begin with, but even after a full game uninstall and reinstall, fully deleting all the mods and then only uploading a few essentials, problem still persists. Basically, I JUST joined the Companions, and have been told to train with Vilkas. Trouble is, I walk up to him and he starts repeating some line over and over (I think the first time it was something about not using magic). Now it's even worse, as the guy is off running around in the wilderness somewhere, and when I find and run up to him, he starts screaming "fight your own battles!" rapid-fire and won't stop! So yeah, kinda boned here, especially considering how much I've accomplished since the error started, and I'd really rather not go again from scratch! Any ideas? LargeStyle
Companion missions can be buggy, although I believe most / all of their issues were resolved with official game patches, so if you're not up to date with these then perhaps try that out. I believe the main issue is the quest script not kicking in when it's supposed to - such as what you're describing. A quick google check resulted in the following reading material: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Take_Up_Arms http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/862782-cant-join-the-companions/ http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/720559-vilkas-bug-train-with-vilkas-not-working/ You'll know when it's all sorted as not only will the quest obviously start properly when it's supposed to, but when / if you bump into Companions members while roaming Skyrim they'll not only not attack you but you can even initiate missions through dialogue (if your game progression is in the correct state). NemesisTheWarlock
The problem is that you may need to have the quests reset; the best way to do that is to go back to a save from before the problem, but you want to avoid that. If you're not using the USkP, the Companions Quests are pretty dodgy and once they're messed up it can be extremely hard to fix. If you don't want to just complete the quest via the console, the only thing I can really suggest and it may not work, is to try doing some of the other radiant quests available in the game as they MIGHT reset it.
