FYI For those of you making weapon tweaks.

Bethesda threw the 10mm in FO3 with pathetic enough stats that they really must have confused it with the 9mm. Or perhaps they figured, "A millimeter shouldn't make that big a difference..." Either way, it in no way does justice to the real 10mm Auto cartridge. I'm also seeing many weapon stat overhaul mods that still don't come close.

You see, the real 10mm has ballistics and energy comparable to a .41 magnum; that's right, more power than a .357 magnum, but not nearly as much as a .44 magnum. Realism-minded modders should bear this in mind when modifying these guns.

/\ 10mm is the biggest one in the picture, with .357 Sig on the left and .40 S&W on the right.

Here's a link to some more info about the 10mm:

It is also pretty rare, is not used by any agency of note, and will be relegated to the popularity level of the 9.5x60R turkish in a couple decades' time.

And why exactly is it the 10mm Auto? it's the 10mm Fallout cartrige-for all you know it's a caseless, ammonia-powered, 10x15.5,, square-nosed wonderbullet.

I still don't understand all these people that have a huge boner for 10mm Auto-if it bothers you that much, the GECK is so easy to use that you can modify a weapon's damage in about 10 seconds

I think people get a kick out of false distinctions. Fo3 isn't even from this time-line, it diverged around WWII so it doesn't matter what people think the weapons should be except maybe the .223 and derivative (5.56mm). Even then it's irrelevant since the game isn't realistic in any aspect.

It's pure fantasy.

Let me make this as clear as possible

and so absolutally nobody can misunderstand.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE 10MM.

using Normal difficulty... FALLOUT 3 CAN BE FINISHED USING "NOTHING" BUT THE 10MM.. un-modded, unchanged and complete in all its original glory of a pistol 'o shitness.

*yes.. even that behemoth in front of GSR radio can be downed with a 10mm. theres tonnes of ammo for it and its insanely accurate, even in vats at long range!

BUT ITS A 10MM AUTO! A single shot has to be able to kill everything within a 10-mile radius because it's the bestest round in the world!

Really though, I'm running MMM on most spawns, on normal, and am using nothing but a silenced 10mm. Hadn't dropped a behe yet, but I've had no problems dealing with dozens of raiders at a time. I seriously don't understand the fascination with a semi-obscure round that does nothing out of the ordinary whatsoever. Now, if we were to talk about, say, a bolt-action rifle using .32, I'd see the point.

Now, where's my G11 with 4.73mm caseless? Now that's a round I can get behind.
