Can't Get ANY mod to work

I bought fallout 3 from steam about 2 months ago, and i haven't really played it a whole lot until recently. coming from oblivion, i thrive on mods, and i decided to get the two most important mods (to me) which are the terrain pack and hair. problem is, when i play the game the terrain is not changed at all, and although i do get the hair, most of it doesn't even go on the head correctly (like the top of the head goes through the top of the hair. So i was wondering if it was something i'm doing wrong, or the fact that i bought it off steam.

Any and all help appreciated!

naw dude, i have the archiveinvalidation txt file in my fallout 3 folder, and they still don't work. i do have that archive invalidation invalidated, however, i have no clue how to use it. i mean, this is all they tell me;

This little program will allow you to totally eliminate the need of ArchiveInvalidation.txt! But how does it work? It works by adding a dummy texture BSA to the start of the BSA load list, this stops Fallout 3's ArchiveInvalidation from running on its main texture BSA allowing any texture replacements you have to work automatically without the need to do anything ever again.

tips and pointers plz&thx?

That archiveInvalidation.txt is the same that was used in the beginnings of Oblivion and got substituted with advantages for the same function in OBMM. I think FOMM have the same functionality and is all you need.

The problem with the txt file is some mods can overwrite it instead appending/merging the files from vanilla to be invalidated. yet more, there is a line on fallout.ini that specifies if older files must be invalidated: bInvalidateOlderFiles=

Yet my advise is avoiding the archiveInvalidation.txt at all.
