Dark0ne
Played a Night Elf Priest in beta and a Tauren Shaman for the first month after release. Only got to level 42 before quitting; I realised if I spent as much time working as I did playing WoW then I'd be a lot better off, physically, mentally and financially. It's a very addictive game and even talking about it now brings back some very strong nostalgic memories. All my friends were at university and I was on my year off; we'd quite regularly get 20 - 30 of us together and go roaming through enemy territory to pick up griffin points for later levels, as well as see if any noobs were daft enough to attack one of us in our entourage (which they did, regularly). The beauty of WoW was that death meant nothing. We'd regularly muck about outside Ironforge with 30 of us pulling the elite guards out and watching the nubbins wonder where their guards went when they left the city! Someone died? Oh well, they'll be back on their feet within 5 minutes. I know of atleast 5 people who have failed their degrees or outright quit university because of Eve. That's why I appreciate Eve Online. It's quite a direct contrast to WoW in the things that matter. Meaningful death, meaningful PVP, meaningful economy, you don't feel bad because teenagers overtake you by 10 levels in 1 day because you have to work and they don't, etc. The CEO's MMO, that's Eve! ;)
maYuYang
lol, WoW... I played that for... Mmmhhhh.. I think for 6 or 7 months, 1st as mage, than as warlock. Max level was 58(not that high, I had to change servers twice because of that lock state and got bored of being a mage then). Dark0ne already mentioned one reason why I stopped, the other reason is that everything is repeating itself again. Always quests like "kill 20 of those" or "collect 50 of these" or "go there and get this"... Really, always the same. And doing a dungeon depended on your luck and others. I was usually unlucky enough to never(or almost never) find a group which would do one with me... And finally, I didn't want to pay for a game I already bought. Paying for it and not playing it then would be a waste. But since I'm playing what I want whenever I want also cripples the fun with WoW...
