Lydia fades away....

I have a curious issue with one follower in my game, and that is the 'Marianne' version of Lydia: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/41560

From time to time her hair become slightly transparent, her eyebrows vanish, and parts of her become a bit see-through. Usually, a cell transition fixes her for a while.

See: https://i.postimg.cc/cCXPNTCn/Fade-away.jpg

I could go to the mod author and see if he knows why. But I would prefer to understand what the problem is first.

If I can understand and fix it myself, then I can be more helpful for the modder should it be an issue with the mod.

I use multiple mods and Silent Horizons ENB. This is the only follower to which this happens.

Could anyone please suggest what is happening? A few pointers in what to check on would be really handy.

Thanks!

Normally, when things go invisible like that it means there is something wrong with the meshes. Trouble is, I don't know enough about how meshes work to tell you specifically what to look for; I only know what to look at to make a mesh work in SE. So, if it were me, I'd load the headmesh from Marianne up in NIfskope, side-by-side with the headmesh from another known working follower and compare the two and see if there are any differences.

It's a wild-a**ed guess, but it's all I've got.

Hmm. My thought too, but I was also wondering about the various channels in DDS files. I'll give the mesh checks a try! I'm like you, not very good with meshes, but its worth a try. Thank you!
