Philogosten
Ok So I played through Origins and all the DLC except the Leliana one and the Darkspawn one. Yet I still don't get something. Why does Morrigan even want to leave after the Arch Demons soul goes into her unborn baby? I just don't see the point at all especially if she loves the Warden. If it is because she had to leave Ferelden then why didn't she just take the Warden with her? (especially since if you play witch hunt you can choose to go with her, What did she not want you to see her pregnant because she was insecure about putting on weight?) Was this just plot convenience so they could charge us for the Witch hunt DLC? Lazy Writing? or what?
Sync182
For mine: Morrigan has always been selfish. She's never been into the lovey-dovey-relationship thing (as is evident by her trying hard to keep the Warden at a distance during the romance); she has her own goals and end-game. The Warden is not a part of those plans, unless he chooses to be a part of them (ie comes around to her way of thinking and agrees to do it her way). Lost08
Or, or, we could look at some of the writings of lead writer David gaider, specifically his revalations comic, showing a morrigan in conflict, for a female warden/ friend no less. Now you can say that yes this is not canon but since the lead writer wrote the script of the comic to give fans a what might have been situation, I think it's safe to say she cares about friends or even lovers. That being said, it is completely unknown to the audience what is behind the eluvian. Maybe it's extremely dangerous for anyone, therefore the perfect place to his the child. Maybe you need affiliation with the old gods soul to be safe. Maybe the child will become holstile towards his parents when he grows up. "You do not know what you ask." Either take her words of warning as truth or not. Your choice. But i doubt it's all rainbows and bunnies past the eluvian, hence morrigan wanting to spare the warden grief. Philogosten
Fair point however the Warden took down an Arch Demon so I doubt anything in this place would be dangerous for him. Besides if Morrigan can handle it then why wouldnt she think that a badass warden who stopped the Blight could? It does not really make much sense. Kajana
One reason is for dramtic effect, granted but really it stays true to her character. Her plan is to disappear, hide from everyone (including Flemeth) but from anyone who might want to use or influence the child. This child is too important to her to risk. Could she alter the plan to stay with the warden or even ask him to come with her? Sure. But she wouldn't, because she doesn't believe in those feelings. She believes that love is an illusion, a weakness. By the end of the game (DAO) she has changed (if loved by and loves the warden) but she doesn't trust those feelings enough to change her plan. No doubt she believes that it will be difficult for a while but the feelings will fade and disappear and both her and warden will go on. Then two years later she risks discovery to try and make contact with the warden, to see perhaps if he still cares and if so she is wiling to change the plan slightly (as long as the child is safe) to allow him to come based on her now revised attitude about love. So while dramatic effect and selling DLC's is important, the change of heart she has I think is consistent with her character and personality.
