xSilentDeadx
So I have been here for a while now trying to mod Skyrim: Legendary Edition, however I keep running into the same problem quite often. Problem being that in lots of still used mods for LE that are even decently up to date at times, I continue to find references to other mods that are required for a mod, you go to the required mods link that is provided and the mod your looking for doesn't exist anywhere. The organization here on NexusMods is extremely sloppy as well. I understand not everyone sticks around or whatnot, hence the caregiver account, however there should still be mods and admins for the site itself that go and check some of the older titles as well, because not everyone has their newer counterparts. Try to clean up some of the dead links guys and gals, can we do that? Thanks for taking the time to read this post, rant over.
Shadeybladey
I came across this recently and mods linked as required by some mods I wanted were non-existant. The link in the description led to the ether. Sometimes mods are also hosted on other sites as well as Nexus, sometimes instead of Nexus, and sometimes they have vanished. We can search for a mod title, but if we don't spell it correctly we will not find it. This also happened where someone suggested AutoHarvest, and the mod is actually called Auto Harvest 2, plus some other text, but not having the space meant it did not come up in the search. After a while I found it. The site staff could try and fix broken links, but it is really up to the mod authers to update any links to other mods required by their own mods. In many cases, the links are not so much "broken", but the target of the link no longer exists as the mod has been removed or otherwise deleted. And imagine how much time it would take for the moderators to go through thousands of mods looking for broken links or missing requirements and dependancies. No, that's down to the original authors and sadly many of them no longer support their mods or have removed them.
IsharaMeradin
The site underwent a change a few years back and the links were broken. For a while they did do a redirect, but that was only supposed to last long enough for those who posted links to update them to the correct location. In many cases, the links were never corrected. An old link that does not work:http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19733 This is supposed to be for Immersive Armors as linked in an article titled: The 10 Best New Skyrim Mods for July 2012 Take any current working linkhttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11 This one is for the Step Project Replace the # in the current working link with the # from the broken onehttps://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19733 This is now a working link for Immersive Armors This type of edit can be done right in the URL bar as needed.
