ashleyclark
True, but at least one can click on what they want, and then turn everything else back on. Hope that made sense.
SkyrimFantom
A good example. I want to select the Light Marker but it selects the trigger. If I press "M", it hides the trigger, but also the light marker. Makes the workflow hard. http://www.bilderhoster.net/129/mrfy57kw.jpg.html

This will hide just that selected item and allow you to click on the light it was previously blocking. Then when you're done with the light you can press Alt and 1 at the same time and the activator will reappear (If you press 1 three times in a row without clicking on anything else in between the selected item will become hidden and then reappear with the third time you press 1 allowing you to simply view what's behind something quickly). In this manner you can hide multiple things that are getting in your way without hiding all the markers, just select each one individually and hit 1 twice. Alt and 1 will unhide Everything that you have hidden. This can still be a bit tedious but at least you actually can get at different markers that were blocking eachother. This is also really useful when you have things like mist covering a large area you're trying to arrange things in, or if you're working inside a tiny space you can just hide the walls so you can rotate your view without constantly finding yourself on the wrong side of a wall. Hope this helps if you haven't already figured it out  Edited February 11, 2015 by Aelthwyn
