Please fix Deirdre

I know that a standalone mod dedicated to fixing Deirdre used to exist for the console, but i've searched high and low and I cannot find such a mod for the PC.

I can't even find the mod that existed for consoles! It was called Fix Deirdre.

 

I don't know how to make the needed edits myself. Would anyone be willing to do this?

All she needs is to actually be linked to her personal vendor shop, and made Essential (like all the other unique Slog NPCs).

This seems like it might be addressed by the UFO4Patch, but I absolutely do not want to install the entire honkin' UFO4Patch just for this.

Not just my personal opinion, either. Some of my fav fo4 streamers have the same conclusion.

And a good chunk of the fixes it claims to implement aren't even functional. They don't work.

Not to mention the compatibility issues. Gotta have patches for the patch sometimes.

My game runs like 95% perfectly. No need for a massive blanket patch.

Thanks to USEEP i was finally able to finish a quest that would always get screwed up.

 

In my experience, the Fallout 4 patch worked fine, like making it so you could actually reach the computer terminal in GoodNeighbor

Anyway, whatever I don't take Streamers word as gospel, I'd rather listen to the team that besides making the unofficial patches, have also made hundreds of mods each on their own, and who know what they're doing.

 

There's a world of difference between a streamer who PLAYS the game, and the Modders who know what's on the inside.

Calm down. I don't take streamer's word as gospel, either.

Just pointing that out as an example of others - unconnected to me - are coming to the same conclusion.

I don't know why you're bringing up USEEP, is that Skyrim?

The patch is more trouble than it's worth. I experienced bugs while it was installed that I never experienced before installing it, or ever since after uninstalling it.

the UFO4Patch is a very common suggestion when it comes to minor little things like this.

I genuinely thought i'd save some time by preemptively explaining that I don't want that to be suggested.

I don't think that was out of line at all.

Apparently I haven't played Fallout4 enough. I am out of the loop yet again(I hope I used this expression right). What can I say, I just have not interacted with this NPC much. According to the wiki, she's a broken merchant and you can't trade with her, also she can't go into bleedout state. After a little bit of investigating, I got to two conclusions. First about the bleedout, I think she needs to be either Protected or Essential. None of these flags are used in her records. Second, her inventory must be coming from the one of the factions - FarmVendorTheSlog. However, there's a condition set for the vendor. If I understand correctly, this condition checks if the workshop at the slog is owned by the player. The value is set to 0, so she is a vendor before taking ownership of the Slog, and after that she is not. The proper value for the condition should be 1, or maybe the condition should be removed. Try this:

I've set Deirdre to be Protected(like Wiseman) and have changed the value for the condition to 1. Tell me if there is any difference.
