DevilXD2
Hello! I'm pretty new to both, Fallout 4 and this forum in general. I've been playing for a while now, I'm roughly right before visiting the Institute as far as the main story goes. I've been mostly focusing on making the Castle my main base recently, and also picked up this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/34334 Now, it's all cool, but the problem is that the button to operate the Castle's armory door, is only on one side. I've been trying to figure out if it'd be possible (with some console commands) to spawn a second button, and then place it on the other side of the wall as well, so that it could be operated from both sides. I've been trying to use "spawndupe" on the button, but it doesn't appear to be working, unless I've been doing it wrong. I figured I could ask people with better experience here, how (and if) it would be possible to achieve.
JimmyRJump
Nope. Everything is tied to (the rather finicky) quests involving "The Castle", aka 'Fort Independence'. The most you can do, without breaking the quests involving 'the Castle', is restore the castle walls before anything. Any alterations with regards to anything to do with 'The Castle' are best left until AFTER you did the "Defend The Castle" side-quest. The reason behind this is, first of all, very bad coding by the Bethesda Boys, plus, the Castle quests are really, really frail, and secondly, anything you do around the Castle before Preston tells you to go there, will potentially make your FO4 life miserable. Just go along with the flow and let the story carry you to the Caste side-quests and once those are done, just go bonkers.
DevilXD2
I see. I don't remember getting a quest named "Defend The Castle" yet, nor had to fight any hostiles there yet (besides clearing out the mirelurks the first time ofc). Still, assuming I'll be done with all of the quests, the question remains - is it possible to duplicate the armory door button, and place the duplicate on the opposite side of the wall? I know how to manipulate the position and angles of objects, it's just duplicating the button itself what hasn't worked for me. I'm assuming that duplicating the button would result in two separate buttons being able to run the same script that cycles the door open and close?
