Zorkaz Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Using XWAencode and or Yakitori some .wav files cannot be converted into .xwm.And yes I read the tutorials about the bitrates and whatnot, yet regardless of the settings one or two files refuse to get converted Does anyone have encountered this problem or something similar and has found a solution? Btw, Yakitori has this to say about the failed file:[16] Error: Unable to convert sound file. External command xWMAEncode.exe error. ExitCode: -2147024809, CmdParam: /b 48000 "D:\Leon (I)\mods\Fallout 4\Mods\FrozenValley\Music\FrozenValley\370754__ztitchez__drone-space-wind-scifi.wav" "D:\Leon (I)\mods\Fallout 4\Tools\YakitoriAudioConverter v1.4-9322-1-4\YakitoriAudioConverter\Temp\ladfm4gb.qye.xwm" ERROR: Cannot parse PCM file: invalid cbSize in format chunk
DieFeM Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Did you tried letting the CK convert them for you? When you use "Create Archive" it automatically converts sound files.
Zorkaz Posted January 7, 2021 Author Posted January 7, 2021 As always. But this time the CK just tells me it can't run the program and proceeds without the wavs.
pepperman35 Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Might try opening the .wav files in Audacity and resave them from there. Not sure if it will make a difference but worth a try.
Zorkaz Posted January 7, 2021 Author Posted January 7, 2021 Did it a thousand times, but to no avail. Maybe Xwmaencode is broken.
steve40 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Like pepperman35 said, the sound file is corrupted. Audacity is a bit crappy. Try wavosaur.
LarannKiar Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 (edited) Maybe a bit off-topic but you don't really need to convert .wav files to .xwm files. You can place a .wav file (pcm_s16le) with a .lip file in an archive (they have to have the same name). Edited February 8, 2021 by LarannKiar
Be3lzeBot Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 ^ But it makes the mod more than 10 times bigger. There are lots of small mods here that take up GBs because they didn't compress the audio.
