Changing some stuff in Skyrim without mods?

Hello fellow adventurers! I had a couple of (probably noob) questions, if anyone would like to answer for me, please.

Is there a way I can set my skills in game to whatever level I want, and unlock the skill tree? For instance, set my Alchemy to 100, and be able to choose all the perks?

Also, Is there a way I can modify Item's stats? Like, Chang the amount of protection a piece of armor provides? If there is no console command for this, is there something like an item editor, or mod?

Thank you!

To answer your first question, yes, you can set your skills in game to whatever you want without needing a mod. The particular console commands you need are "incPCS" or "AdvSkill," which differ in their complexity and whether or not the skill gains increase your player level. The console command for adding perks is as simple as "addPerk" followed by the perk ID. An exhaustive list of console commands can be found here. Keep in mind that dinking around with console commands can have ugh... "unintended consequences," so always keep a backup save.

The Creation Kit is pretty handy for tweaking item stats, but obviously there's a considerable learning curve.

Open console (the key to the left of "1", usually ~ or `)

Type "player.advskill [whatever skill you want] 99999999" without quotes (only use quotes for a phrase with more than one word)

If you need more perks, "help [perk]" without quotes then "player.addperk [Perk ID]. Use Fn+Up/down Arrow to scroll through IDs returned by the help command.

Changing armour values is very easy to do in the Creation Kit. Read the Basics tutorial on the CK wiki first, then open the CK, load Skyrim.esm and Update.esm, find the armour you want to edit, double click it, edit the values in the window that pops up, save as .esp.

Was kinda tricky to do, but it is possible to add your perk points with cheat engine, i find it cleaner adding them manually than adding them with console (and well, it is faster). But if you want level 100 in everything or all the perks, just use a bat file.

Modifying stats is kind of hit and miss. It depends on what you're trying to accomplish. If you want super powerful NPCs, you can pretty much only do that like this:

select the NPC in console

type in: modav health 5000

If you want to become super powerful yourself, you don't need some special armor. All you need is to bump the right stats:

player.modav healrate 99

The above would basically make you into superman, even without any armor.

For perks in skill trees, just use the addperk command, and look up the related ID on the wiki.

For example:

player.addperk 58f79

The above would give you the "Fence" perk without any need for skill or whatever.
