T0M7
Vortex version: Latest (1.3.21)Game: Fallout New VegasTopic: Vortex can't identify newer version of xNVSE There's new version of xNVSE (6.0.0), but due to handling of Vortex with smacking dependency of not compatible with higher version than 5.1.6 making updating with Vortex confusing as it identified on Vortex as 5.1.6. As it is, you need to remove previous version installed automatically by Vortex and manually install it from GitHub.
Pickysaurus
I've already spoken to the xNVSE developers about this. They did not update the version associated with nvse_loader.exe - so Vortex will think that even though you're installing 6.0.0 it's actually 5.1.6. They said they were going to release another update with the corrected version number, but if that causes them problems for some reason we'll see if there's anything we can do on the Vortex side to mitigate this. korri123
xNVSE dev here, to further clarify why we didn't update nvse_loader.exe is because it needs to be whitelisted from anti-virus software every time it is changed (for example Microsoft Defender will delete it automatically). Since there is nothing inside the loader that has changed since the last update (or likely will ever change) I didn't think it was worth touching the file for the update. For next version (6.0.1) I will change the loader version so that Vortex can handle it correctly, but that'll mean that I also need to submit it to Microsoft for analysis again so they can whitelist it again. That can take time, especially since all PCs with Defender enabled need to download the whitelist update from Microsoft.
