Which race is ideal for me?

I want to relate to my character, but it looks like all nords are like 6' 0" and im 5' 7" which is pretty short. Can you make nords short? I am Hispanic but I have pale skin like alot of my ancestors. I think I have Scottish/Irish ancestors on my dads side. From what I understand Nords are like Vikings and Imperials are like romans. I used to be a all out warrior, but I switched to being a healer/mage. I can't make a good breton since there face is hard to work with so I guess only Imperials and nords are my options. Please help me!

That's tricky... Since you can't alter the height of your character, a Nord wouldn't work. But, in Skyrim the Imperials are quite tanned by default, so the pale skin might be a problem too. I think Imperials have an option for lighter skin though, so perhaps they are your best bet. :D

And yeah, bretons suck. :P

(Have I ignited a flame war? Hope not.)

There is a mod for extended colors that affects both hair and skin color. It never seemed to work on the eye colors. You can still choose the default ranges, but you can select anything from albino to jet black if you have this mod installed. If you like warriors, maybe a lighter skinned redguard. You could make up a back story with the character having Breton or some elvsih ancestors to justify some magical talent.

I made a Dark Elf with snow white skin for one of my characters. She ended up looking like Elric's daughter but with red rather than pink eyes.

I also belive there is a mod that allows tweaking of character heights but I have never used it. Search the nexus mod site and steam workshop to see if you can find it.

Best regards,

Mike

I may be mistaken but I think you can change your height with the RaceMenu Mod.

Edit ; What korun said. (got to stop treating the forum like a description page :) )

I can only hope that my Emilie didn't hear you say that. You wouldn't like her when she's angry.

IDK why there is any more issue when making Bretons than with any other race, especially if you get some decent face and body textures. And don't you have to have a particular skeleton installed to use the height altering features of the RaceMenu mod?

Bryan , I re-size all my characters...it's quick and simple, though I would suggest using a 'Height Adjustor' Mod in conjunction with it so it blends with the NPC's in your game (height varieties) ....might I suggest this one as I have a pretty good idea now of the height markers in this one and so thus can give a couple of height setting suggestions....Height Adjusted Races with True Giants :

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/7587

It needs to be placed at the bottom of the load order to work well.

Open your console while in game and in control of your Dovahkin and type in : Player.SetScale ####

Examples...I run three Dovahkins :

Nord Male...he is a tall man even by Nord standards, this puts him almost a head taller than other Nord Males : Player.SetScale 1.060

Breton Female....she is very small even by Breton standards, she is basically the height of a Bosmer : Player.SetScale .92

Breton Female....roughly the same height as other Breton females, just ever so slightly shorter : Player.SetScale .98

I would suggest you play with the scale between 1.020 and 1.030 to achieve the height it sounds like you are after....When your character is escaping Helgen, as soon as your hands are unbound go into third person and stand close enough to Hadvar/Ralof to ensure his on your screen also...and open console and play with your height using Havar/Ralof as your height comparison guide.

Hahaha :D

Yeah, my opinion has carried over from Morrowind, and they were annoying in Morrowind. :P

Thank you all for your replies, I didn't want to start a new nord save since I got so far. I also started a Imperial for lore sakes he is a archer/healer. Sorry I didn't reply sooner I guess I wasn't subscribed to my thread. I will change my nords height :) I just have a question were there any nords my height? I played most of the games I think most nords were tall.
