FiftyTifty
I use a two-handed axe-wielding Dunmer. Reason for that, is that the Dunmer are, I've found, the most balanced of the races. They are not anywhere near as good in combat as a Nord or an Orc, but not as good with magic as the other races. Makes every play-style challenging. And I like my games hard. That, and I've always played as a dark elf in every game that allowed me to; they tend to be nerfed in close-combat, and I like that. Aaaaaand I like the look of 'em too. 'Specially the females. Dem cheekbones.
StayFrosty05
I am extremely patient gamer and love nothing more than heavy use of tactics and strategy ....takes me a lot of time clearing a Crypt, Bandit Camp, etc....out....always have a plan....I have two Dovahkins. My favorite..: Nord Male Werewolf, he specializes in Ambushes, Ranged Combat and slitting throats....Primary Perk specializations are Light Armor, Stealth, Archery and Alchemy (Poisons)...his secondaries are Speech, Two Handed and Smithing. I play him on Expert and Master difficulties and love realism and RP....thus he never Fast Travels, never loots Armor or Weapons (only small, light valuable objects) and won't carry more than 220 in weight at a time, only carries one Bow, one Sword, one Dagger, one set of Armor (what he wears)....Doesn't using healing potions in Combat, eats, drinks, sleeps, etc...It's an extremely rare event for him to die, he usually doesn't in a game....He spends a lot of time pre planning his battle strategies, is a very patient in waiting for the right moment to strike and fights with every dirty trick in the book, he does not play fair.... :P ...I use Mods to up the difficulty in Combat, smarter AI for opponents, tougher opponents, etc...but I balance it out with realistic Poisons...though that bites me in the *ss because the Poisons Mod I use makes Frost Bite Spiders devastatingly deadly with their spit and bites.... I also have a Breton Girl....she is a Pacifist specializing in Illusion, Restoration, Enchanting and Stealth, her secondaries are Archery and Speech....She is very challenging....the Pacifism....and makes for a very interesting and alternate game play, a whole new set of Tactics and Strategies.... ....She can generally make it through most Bandit Camps without directly killing anyone herself, that takes a LOT of planning.... I have a favorite story about my Breton girl....she pick pocketed a Bandit for a key he was carrying and he later sent Hired Thugs after her (don't know how he knew... ...)....my girl pick pocketed the Hired Thugs too.... ....Yes, the Bandit and all Hired Thugs lived and unharmed to tell their tales.... Edited March 27, 2013 by StayFrosty05
ponyboy10
Everything else comes down to staggering around like a drunk and wildly hacking away at your opponent. You just described my entire play style. =plol, mine too. but i'm playing as an Orc warrior, using just heavy armor and two-handed weapons, so it's by design. I love when NPCs comment on how "God gave you two hands, and you use them both for your weapon. I like that" :) In Oblivion I played a kick-ass Bosmer pure archer. I'm getting an itch to do another stealth character.
mikeprok17
My favorites are mages/battlemages/spellswords. I usually make a Dunmer or Altmer, but I have made Nord warriors too.
imperium999
In the hopes of actually finishing the game with at least one of my characters, I've decided to try the trifecta: Nord warrior werewolf Companion, specializing in dual axes. He doesn't know much or care much about magic, unless it's enchanting his axes to make them deadlier. 1H, Archery, Light Armor, Smithing and not much else. Breton fire mage with a sword and crossbow. Not very handy with a blade, but deadly with Destruction. The Mage build I find to be the most challenging. Dunmer assasin Vampire Lord Listener. In sneak mode and undetected, she's invincible. The DB questline is my favorite so far. The whole <Say Nothing> dialog choices are really awesome and I wish they had put more of them in the game, not just in the DB line. My hope is that when I get bored with one build, I can switch to another and keep playing, returning to the other when I feel like it. I'm also playing Dawnguard concurrently with my warrior and assasin, just to shake it up a little (and to make the differences more noticable). Derok
Jeevar, Argonian.Versatile class, wanderer swordman (one handed) also skilled with crossbows. My character spent most of his life at Cyrodiil (his father is an Imperial) , so he's a good speaker as well and he always knows what to say. Bhanqwa
Pretty much played every combo... except for shield/spell as they both prioritize the left hand. Most fun I had was a Khajiit unarmed assassin, who would use frenzy spells and then vanish when overwhelmed.
stockwiz
breton who specialized in alchemy, enchanting, and smithing, heavy armor wearing tank/archer/conjurer at first... transitioned into a sneak dagger assassin... with 1.9 I set smithing to legendary and put the perks into restoration and illusion... now I'm a stealth illusing casting, conjuration, restoration magic type build playing on legendary difficulty. If I'm stupid I can get killed pretty fast on legendary even hitting the armor cap, but it's still not terribly hard... it's interesting and enjoyable with the array of mods installed. Enchanted gear reduces costs of conjuration and illusion by 87%, and restoration by 58%... so I took the restoration perks cutting spell cost in half. Throw around calm spells when I don't feel like fighting the random bear while traveling, or frenzy when I want to see bandits slaughter each other... good fun. WaffleIon
I spent about a year playing on my Xbox before I moved over PC. For some reason, I always gravitated towards a 2h warrior build, just because I seem to obliterate everything in my path. I tried being a Mage, but I cannot use magic to save my life, not to mention the extremely slow rate at which you level. I then tried being an Assassin/Thief character. That worked relatively well, but I couldn't really use archery because controllers are too fiddly with precision aiming. Right now, loaded up with Frostfall, SkyRe, Deadly Combat and a number of mods that enhance archery, I'm doing a sort of Duelist Archer guy. He only uses one-handed swords and a long-bow, and it's probably the most fun I've had in a while. I have to dodge a lot of attacks and really focus on exploiting openings in the enemy's defense. Archery with mods is great, because you no longer feel limited to about 20 feet of range, and can hit targets that are just specks on the screen.Oh, and I usually play a Nord, so there's not a huge amount of racial reaction, but every now and then I play as a Khajiit and it's pretty interesting. I have bandits saying "I'll make a nice rug out of you, cat!", and Khajiit caravans seem even more friendlier than they usually are. Just to change things up even more, I got a mod that makes your dialogue options sound "Khajiitin". You go up to a merchant and "What have you got for sale?" is replaced by "This one wishes to trade with you." Nice little immersion mod, although I'm pretty sure it stays on even when you play another race, so you might have to turn it off if you want to switch to a non-Khajiit character. Groundonrage
Archer assassin(Wood elf), although 1 shotting everything even on master difficulty got boring so I'm trying out a pure mage now with trained smithing, game is a fart ton harder even on adept difficulty.
