wldrummer
I recently bought Fallout 3 for my pc and it crashes when I try and start a new game, rendering it unplayable. I have been told that a d3d9.dll file would fix this but that it is risky. What should I do?
TailAbNormal
It's safe, scanned it, loaded it, used it. got a copy from the link in this video MAJOR NOTE: you should only dowhnload files like this as an absolute last resort, any one you find could be corrupted, or the file could wreak the game. Hope this helps.
willsacco850
Nice otherwise but no matter how much I try it says "Server not found"...
Deleted3507349User
If you have a Radeon video card, your best bet is to create a custom D3D9.dll for yourself using D3D9Gen. Get it here: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34970/? I've had to use it on every one of my machines, from a WinXP desktop to a Win7 and Win8 laptop. Works like a charm. masternetra
A d3d9.dll is a dll file from DirectX 9, which is made by Microsoft and Direct X in general is commonly used by games. (There is currently up to Direct X 11.1 (Windows 7+)). So yes it is safe. At very least for certain if you install direct x from Microsoft, third party sites can vary.
