Lesly
Hello. New to Vortex and installing mods. I have two locations with BG3 files. C:\Users\Owner\Documents\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3 has my LevelCache, Mods, PlayerProfiles and Temp folders. PlayerProfiles has my profile, Savegames and the modsettings Notepad file. This location has the Steam files: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3 SETTINGS: INTERFACE Options that are ON, include:Custom Window Title BarEnable Desktop NotificationsUse relative timesEnable GPU AccelerationDeploy Mods when EnabledEnable Mods when installed (in current profile) SETTINGS: VORTEXMulti-User Mode set to Per-User (just me on my PC). SETTINGS: MODS Mod Staging Folder (Baldur's Gate 3) points to {USERDATA}\{GAME}\mods, and below that there is a file location: C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\baldursgate3\mods Deployment method is Hardlink Deployment. MODS: MODS Improved UI - Patch 11 2.3.1 (downloaded first), category is User Interface. Enabled. Deploy order is 1. File manager location: C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\baldursgate3\mods\Improved UI - Patch 11-13-2-3-0-1606985082 CUSTOMIZER - Main 5.0.2 (downloaded second), category is Character Creation. Enabled. Deploy order is 0. File manager location: C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\baldursgate3\mods\CUSTOMIZER - Main-10-5-0-2-1604576060 MODS: LOAD ORDER Ingame profile is pointing to my game profile in the C:\Users\Owner\Documents\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles, I think. 1. Improved UI - Patch 11. The checkbox has a lock. 2. CUSTOMIZER - Main. The checkbox has a check. In my C:\Users\Owner\Documents\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles profile folder the modsettings Notepad is set to: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?><save> <version major="4" minor="0" revision="0" build="55"/> <region id="ModuleSettings"> <node id="root"> <children> <node id="ModOrder"> <children> <node id="Module"> <attribute id="UUID" type="FixedString" value="d7e3b122-67ec-460b-b08a-89e5c79fb633"/> </node> </children> </node> <node id="Mods"> <children> <node id="ModuleShortDesc"> <attribute id="Folder" type="LSWString" value="Gustav"/> <attribute id="MD5" type="LSString" value=""/> <attribute id="Name" type="FixedString" value="Gustav"/> <attribute id="UUID" type="FixedString" value="991c9c7a-fb80-40cb-8f0d-b92d4e80e9b1"/> <attribute id="Version" type="int32" value="268435456"/> </node> <node id="ModuleShortDesc"> <attribute id="Folder" type="LSWString" value="Customizer"/> <attribute id="MD5" type="LSString" value=""/> <attribute id="Name" type="FixedString" value="Customizer"/> <attribute id="UUID" type="FixedString" value="d7e3b122-67ec-460b-b08a-89e5c79fb633"/> <attribute id="Version" type="int32" value="268435456"/> </node> </children> </node> </children> </node> </region></save> When I start a new campaign I see these guys: https://ibb.co/7vpTvVQI saved my saved games, uninstalled BG3 and Vortex, re-installed both again but I still see these guys when I start a new campaign. Otherwise I'm able to continue playing my saved games. What am I doing wrong?
Lesly
Otherwise I'm able to continue playing my saved games. Looks like I can't do that either. I can move around but can't talk to NPCs, use the map, etc.
Pickysaurus
Does this also happen if you install the mods without using Vortex? I'm not familiar with this game so if we can narrow down if it's a mod problem or a Vortex problem that would help.
Lesly
BG3 is the only game I currently have installed. Improved UI is necessary to access the Customizer mod, which lets you pick different faces/hairstyles/etc.
Lesly
For anyone still reading I couldn't get the mods to load using Vortex, but I did get them to work with LaughinLeader's BG3 mod manager and Norbyte's patch. Watch this video for the patch link and tutorial.
