mindw0rk2
Fully modded Skyrim and vanilla Skyrim are basically 2 different games. Id never play vanilla again
Hyacathusarullistad
Something I haven't seen mentioned here that I consider essential are the Unofficial Patches for the main game and the games DLC. If nothing else, installing those makes the main game far less buggy and are pretty much essential to playing skyrim. I don't know how I forgot about these. These are a must for any PC player, whether you want to actually mod your game or not. The patches fix a whole host of things, and make for a much smoother play experience. So important you don't even remember it! I know I never think about them, kinda like SkyUI
Hyacathusarullistad
SkyUI is a tossup for me. I play on a very large screen, and none of the text options SkyUI currently provides are ideal - but I'm very fond of the new menu layouts. But I'd imagine on typical monitor sizes it'd be perfect, really. That does remind me though that anyone running even a remotely modded Skyrim game should have the SKSE installed. It's pretty simple to install once you read the readme, and not having it severely restricts your modding options.
Shotokanguy
Ok, I need some advice here. I've bought and installed Skyrim and I'm going through Gopher's vids just to see what mods he recommends and see them in action. Most of these early vids are outdated now, but I'm on the "Face of War" one and clearly, No Blocky Faces is an improvement... But I already know there are plenty of other mods for...beautifying...the character models. Should I bother getting No Blocky Faces, then that guy's Detailed Lips, then Detailed Bodies, and so on and so forth, or is there a mod out there now that pretty much covers ALL aspects of the way characters look? I might even install a body mod to make the characters bodies more muscular or athletic, so even if I were to get the Detailed Bodies mod, would it apply itself to something like CBBE mods? I don't even know. Basically, all I want is for people to look realistic. I don't want crappy textures and I don't want supermodels or anime characters. Orcs should look mean, Rigel Strong-Arm should be ugly like her father says she is. They should look believable. What's the best way to get there?
