Post count and the lounge

You see my problem is that I don't have enough posts, and I'm to lazy to venture outside the lounge to find more. I find it hard to think up relevant things to post outside the lounge. When I do they always sound like I just quickly made them up so I can get one more post count and never really sound right.

With me so far?

If posts in the lounge increased your post count everyone would have thousands of posts, so posts become meaningless but everyones an equal and have a title.

If its impossible or stupid, to everyday remove the post barrier in the lounge then how about "post-fridays" where the post barrier is removed only on fridays?

I have no trump card, no "If my demands are not met I will detonate the bomb" I'm simply asking for a bit of posting relief.

Alright I'm all done.

(sorry if I rabbited on a bit)

That's the problem right there... You're too lazy to do anything anywhere else.

Posts in the lounge aren't counted because in the lounge people can just spam post in several threads, driving their count up to make it seem like they've been around a long time, or have contributed alot to the community. For most, the lounge is a place for idle chatter, and usually either gets ignored, or given it's own value just from the threads which exist here. It is not a rucial part of the site, it often has little to do with gaming, but instead offers a place for all those sorts of non-important discussions. 500 posts isn't an impossible task, it just means that you usually have to have something worth saying and as a result, those who have high post counts are often among those who have some idea of what they are talking about. Most of those currently above 1000 posts are people who I have seen who are rather knowledgable in their own right, who spend a good deal of time on these forums either helping others or promoting their work. It's kinda a distinction which i feel that these people have earned since they have done so much around here.

Being able to get your own title is not something everyone should be able to do, it should be a privilage awarded to those who prove themselves coherant enough to be a real part of the community. As you have demonstrated, it is a goal which many have worked toward. Why ruin their goal, and make the privillage worthless? If everyone gets to decide their own title without spending any real effort on posting something meaningful, it would be abused, and the value would be diminished.

The reason why the lounge shoud remain without posts being counted is because the post rules here are far less strict than other sections. Most of the threads here are things which can be responded to in less than 5 minutes of thinking/typing. If you wanted the posts here to count, the first job would be to clean out all threads here, and then enforce stricter posting rules. As this would essentially ruin the purpose of the forum, and cause many legendary threads to go poof, it probably won't, and shouldn't happen.

many of the posts and topics here deal with and are invovled with "role playing" and as such are important part of this community as is the druids forum. Maybe try reading some of the things posted in it before sayind how unimportant this part of the site is to the community. I have found the info you leave in the forums very helpful, but frankly talking to a 13 year old child like you just have leaves me thought to reconsider how much respect you may have garnered from me.
