Bhanqwa
Are there any ways to do this, maybe through console commands?Alternatively can I temporarily join the Dark Brotherhood to attend the wedding, then leave them again?
Amoryenar
I've always wanted to do this too. She always says she's about to be married, but the only way to start the marriage is the DB quest? I don't like that. I think there should be a way to fix this.
sisterof
Total hallucination mode: it would be grand to be able to control several characters that exist in the same world, so my Dragonborn could benefit from the Listener's actions without ever getting involved with the Dark Brotherhood, like the demise of the Shatter-Shields and so on. Alas!@Bhanqwa: take a look at the UESPwiki's page for the marriage quest and the console commands for the quest stages. I wouldn't try it, though, sounds quite game-breaking. Mushashi7
The Vittoria Vici marriage quest is definetely one of the better ones in the game, ending up on the emperor's ship. Intrigues en masse. I did it only a single time though and really had a major problem with it. I hate the Dark Brotherhood. Scum of the earth. I wipe them out with no hesitation, starting with Astrid in the shack. I enjoy pretending I am going to kill one of the three hooded persons, only to turn quickly around and place an arrow right between her eyes. Paid assasins don't live long in my present. If you have to kill money or a bleeding heart should not be the reason.
MightyZ0G
I think the only way you could have the wedding take place without joining the DB would be to mod the quest where you destroy the DB and have an assassin kill her while you were at the ceremony.you wouldn't be able to prevent her death but you could kill the assassin afterwards to get a reward. ShannonRutherford
I was always thinking the same thing about wedding, why they not made it trigger even if u are not in DB i meant after u destroyed it.
MightyZ0G
the wedding would have to trigger before the destruction of the DB as an assassin would still have to kill Vittoria.the ES Lore will have to have all the DB assassinations take place even if you don't join the DB. ShannonRutherford
Yeah, but after all Vicci was just a decoy.
MightyZ0G
Vicci is/was the Emperor's cousin.if you are planning on killing an Emperor and making your own claim to the Imperial Throne then you need to make sure there are no loose ends.Vicci was getting married and that would lead to children with a claim to the throne as part of the Mede dynasty.whoever is behind the assassinations wants to make sure they are all gone.I wouldn't be surprised if, when TESVI comes out, the Lore states that other members of the Mede family were assassinated in Cyrodiil around the same time. Anska
I agree with you that in an official timeline probably all the assassinations took place, but if you decide to destroy the DB in your own play-through, you create an alternative universe. So there wouldn't be any reason to still have an DB assassin spoil the wedding. (The person who ordered the assassination of Vicci would probably contact another assassin to do the job, after hearing the DB got wiped out. So maybe there could have been a quest were you could unravel the whole mystery from another perspective - that would have been cool. ) I would have loved to see the wedding take place without the DB quest too.
