N00b figuring out dependencies, sometimes confusing... SkyVRaan?

I'd like to try SkyVRaan's enhanced (Shimmering -- sounds great!) water textures (really into prettifying my base game) but I'm quite new to all this. With help from an expert on the SVR reddit (sir_lith, a very kind soul) I've found my way through the bootstrap process (Vortex, Nexus site, config file editing tool, SKSEVR etc) and now feel fairly comfortable installing standalone mods. But mods with dependencies are a little scarier because sometimes it's hard to figure out what those dependencies really are.

When I read the main page description of SkyVRaan it sounds like it plays OK with Realistic Water 2, and doesn't depend on other things unless you install yet more mods, for example: "if using Cathedral Water Weather Patch" or "If using my script to xxxx" So it sounds like I don't have to install anything else and can just DL SkyVRaan main file.

But when I start manual download I get a popup warning that says this mod depends on (list of 4 mods, such as Cathedral Weather). So I don't know which writeup to believe, the popup at download time, or the mainpage.

I don't know if it's safe to install a mod if I'm not certain about its dependencies, or whether I risk bricking my game. Can I damn the torpedoes and go ahead, with the worst consequence being an error message?

Is the download popup an overzealous Nexus feature that warns about any possible dependencies, not just actual core dependencies?

The Nexus mod library is like the biggest candy store I've ever seen :-) wow.

Click on REQUIREMENTS on the Description page and read it

They're required "IF USING X Weather patch"

Requirements

Cathedral Weathers and Seasons (If using the Cathedral Water Weather Patch)
Obsidian Weathers and Seasons (If using the Obsidian Water Weather Patch)
Realistic Water Two (If using the Realistic Water 2 Version)

Not difficult to figure out

Yes I did get that part, it's just that when I actually do the download I get a different message that seems to imply these are hard, not conditional, dependencies.

Sounds like you're saying, "Ignore the download popup message and believe the Dependencies info in the mod description page." So I'll go with that.

Yea, there's probably not enough room to type out the entire "Cathedral Weathers and Seasons (If using the Cathedral Water Weather Patch)" in the download box
