Kevin0904 Posted April 17, 2013 Share Posted April 17, 2013 Hello everyone,I started a new game with a lot of mods (152 .esps, modlist is in the spoiler) and I played around ~30 hours now. Everything runs fine (with an occasional CTD or freeze) except one problem:There are no random dragon attacks. I'm not sure what causes this, especially when all the other stuff is fine (like Dawnguard vampire attacks and unique Dragons). I have Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn installed and also finished the Quest "Dragon Rising". Does anyone have an idea what mods/mod conflicts could cause this or how I can find the cause myself? Deactivating mods to test it isn't that easy because it doesn't change anything in an old savegame.I read every desription/readme and the mods should be compatible, but some of them have dirty edits. Should I just clean them? Anything 5 or less will bug a lot of things out including dragon spawning.Go back into the game and type into the console: getglobalvalue timescale&getglobalvalue wiwaitdragon (should be 3/ meaning 3 hours must pass to spawn a dragon). Any other ideas? The cause is a probably a mod or conflicting mods, but it is really hard to find out which because I have to play the game until "Dragon Rising" to test if it worked, in my old savegame deactivating mods doesn't change the dragon problem. chikawowwow Posted April 17, 2013 Share Posted April 17, 2013 Those settings are right, several other things I can suggest: Do you have "A blade in the dark" quest active? This stops dragon spawns. Console:getglobalvalue dragonsreturned (should be 1)&getglobalvalue winextdragon (this varies but if its something mad like 20-200 it could be your problem). Make a save then console tmm 1 (to show all map markers) and set wiwaitdragon to 0 (to remove the wait timer), travel to Soljunds Sinkhole west of Rorikstead- go to the cliff and keep waiting for one hour at a time (the built in wait mechanic, not literally unless you want to) and see if anything happens after 24 hours. If there is still nothing do the above with a NEW game, console- set dragonsreturned to 1- then do the above and see if that yields anything. As for your mods nothing jumps out for me and I doubt I could provide you with any insight with them, perhaps try moving this topic into the 'technical support' forum as it has the best chance of getting noticed by people who could help with that. Not sure what the second one means. I tried waiting in Soljunds Sinkhole with my old save and nothing happened. As for a new save - do I have to finish "Dragons Rising"? I tried to fast travel to Riverwood, Falkreath and so on a lot but not one dragon. Could the "getglobalvalue winextdragon 50.63" be the problem? If not, I guess I have to ask in the technical support about the mods. Edit: Started a new character and played until I finished "Dragons Rising". I did the same in Soljunds Sinkhole and nothing happened. Also, "getglobalvalue winextdragon" is "3.89" on the new character, which I assume is normal. BrookH Posted September 2, 2013 Share Posted September 2, 2013 I'm having the same experience now - started a new, modded game and did not encounter a single random dragon attack until level 42. Then, just now, I encountered 4 in a row, back-to-back on the road from Glenmoril Coven to Karthspire. At one point there were 2 dragons at the same time! Dubnoman Posted September 3, 2013 Share Posted September 3, 2013 I had this problem before. What I determined was the issue for me was certain types of mods. If I installed a mod that changed the environments of Skyrim, for whatever reason, I'd get no random dragon attacks. If I put in a mod that did things like make it snow more or enhance the vegetation, I had this problem. Also, I had a mod that added smelters to all blacksmiths in Skyrim. For example, it added a smelter to the blacksmith in Riverwood. It changed the environment in some way (It was located on the grassy ground next to Alvor's workstation). That mod also gave me this problem, because once I uninstalled it, random dragon attacks happened soon afterward. On my current play through, I haven't had this problem, but I didn't install any kinds of mods I explained to you. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
