BlazeStryker
Okay, so I considered installing Buffout 4. The requirements aren't too onerous, I thought. When I looked in the comments section to check for incompatibilities it mentioned mods corrupting the memory heap, fair enough. At the bottom of the posting I got a nasty shock; Knockout (Death Alternative) is, according to Fudgy, certain to crash the game. He didn't explain why. I want to know why. You see, I like the option of not killing. I'm hardly a fanatic about it; I kill a lot. But being forced to goes against the grain, really. So, I'm asking anyone that knows what is certain to cause crashes in Knockout and why it hasn't been patched.
pepperman35
Perhaps you are simply over analyzing the game. The game is not perfect, but none are for that matter. The game is rather cheap (sometime real cheap during sales on Steam) and as you mentioned requirements aren't too onerous. Granted, she has a little bit of age to her. I have gotten many hours of enjoyment from playing the game so I'd say install it, play it and have fun. I'd highly recommend your first play through be without mods, except for patches and the like. This will give you a true feel for the game, its intended purpose and the like. The game is lore rich, so take the time to play it.
BlazeStryker
When I find gaping plot holes that can't be explained away to the point I'd award the explanation a No-Prize, I look for a better path. Jet was supposed to have been invented after the War as a derivative of Brahmin "gas" but is among the drugs at Vault 95 as well as being dealt by the drug dealer in Sanctuary Hills. That's a minor quibble, as Jet may have been a reformulation of a Pre-War chem. The Ghoul-kid in a sealed fridge? NEVER. I'll never, ever do anything that stupid. Most of the Commonwealth is much too janky for 210 years after the War, but landscape mods cover that. Fixing glaring plot holes in Hole in the Wall and other quest bottlenecks and logical fallacies are the bread and butter of Fallout 4 modding. My actual request was to find out what's supposed to be so crashy about Knockout and I repeat it here. The whole lack of non-lethal hitting when you're supposed to have a damned fistfight in Confidence Man screams for me to keep Knockout, thank you very much... :smirk:
