INstalled a ton of mods at once-> game not working, bugfix?

Hello

i have a big problem. (Description of the problem is at the end of the topic)

Let me tell you everything i did:

INstalled Fo3

Installed GOTY-DLC-CD

Installed FOMM

Played for a few hours with NMCs texture pack, RH_Ironsights and Fellout installed (FOSE and ArchiveINvalidation used)

Since i came across GopherVids Modding guides on youtube, I wanted to install everything he uses, because the gameplay he uploaded with the mdos looks amazing (not important, i know)

So i uninstalled the FOMM, installed the NMM (he uses them in the videos)

Downloaded a ton of mods (I will list the load order later), and installed them. (not nmcs teyture pack, did that manually like he sais in the videos)

Ran BOSS

To the problem:

When i start the game, it instantly crashes when loading up. I can briefly see the Fallout-Symbol coming up, and then it crashes with Win7 telling me its not working anymore.

I have no idea why this is happening.

So i downloaded FO3Edit and wanted to run it, but it gives me an error about "editing disabled" (I will also post the last few lines of the debug)

Could you go over my info/tell me ways to fix this?

Load Order:

all fallout+dlcs first, after that you can find all in the added picture (i could only screenshot part of the list, the official ones are missing therefore.

FO3Edit Debug:

[00:08] Background Loader: loading "FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm"...
[00:08] Background Loader: [FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm] Loading file
[00:08] Background Loader: [FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm] File loaded
[00:08] Background Loader: [FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm] Start processing
[00:08] Background Loader: [FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm] Adding master "Fallout3.esm"
[00:08] Background Loader: [FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm] Adding master "CRAFT.esm"
[00:08] Background Loader: [CRAFT.esm] Loading file
[00:08] Background Loader: Fatal: <EOSError: System Error. Code: 2.
Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden>
[01:32] Background Loader: finished
So, anyone got a diffrent too to find out whats wrong? Or any ideas?
Thank you

Instant crash on start-up is usually the result of a missing master. In your case, the FO3Edit error report is telling you which one is missing,"00:08] Background Loader: [FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm] Adding master "CRAFT.esm"

[00:08] Background Loader: [CRAFT.esm] Loading file
[00:08] Background Loader: Fatal: <EOSError: System Error. Code: 2."
You don't have CRAFT.esm in your load order. You also need CALIBR.esm in order to use FWE.
I suggest that you go back to the mod download pages and thoroughly read the mod description and installation instructions.

schaine - Hello!

Modded Fallout 3 crashing on startup is almost always due to a missing master, in other words a plugin is missing another that it needs to work.

If you open your mod manager you can left click on each mod & a list of their masters will be displayed at the bottom. You MUST have those masters in your load order for that plugin to work.

A very common mistake is to use patches without having the actual mod they were made for.

As well as the plugins mentioned by M48A5 (I see you beat me too it M48A5 :) ).

I notice you have Mart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release + DLCs.esp, that requires some plugins you do not have in your load order so you'll get a crash on startup.

If you check it's masters as mentioned above you'll see listed:

Fallout3.esm
ThePitt.esm
BrokenSteel.esm
FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm
Mart's Mutant Mod.esm
FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC The Pitt.esp
Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC The Pitt.esp
FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Broken Steel.esp
Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Broken Steel.esp

You're missing Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC The Pitt.esp.

I'm assuming you've got ThePitt.esm up above, the top six plugins are cut off in the screenshot (I see you mention that in your post  ).

If you have all 5 DLC's you may wish to use all the MMM DLC plugins, that would leave your MMM plugins ordered something like this:

FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm
Mart's Mutant Mod.esm (Move this below the FWE .esm like this)

Mart's Mutant Mod.esp
Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Anchorage.esp
Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Broken Steel.esp
Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC The Pitt.esp
Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Point Lookout.esp
Mart's Mutant Mod - DLC Zeta.esp
Mart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release.esp
Mart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release + DLCs.esp

Now I also see several FWE & MMM Project beauty patches listed but you don't seem to have the Project Beauty.esm in your load order. If it is the case that you don't have Project Beauty, remove those patches or you'll get the crash on startup.

An easier way to post your load order is to go to your mod manager's Load Order & Copy to clipboard. I use FOMM but NMM will have a simillar function.

Hope this helps!

Thank you very much, that sounds loigical. I actually went through them, and i actually knew that it needed calibr, but i simply forgot. However, how do I get Craft.esm? I found a mod on here called Craft, which is an ESM file, but im pretty sure its something else, isnt it? It doesnt state its affiliated with FWE

What would be the best way of adding it? Simply reinstalling FWE?

As stated on the FWE description page, both CRAFT and CALIBR are included with FWE and necessary for FWE to work properly. The problem is that you used NMM to install FWE. If you don't follow Gopher's video to the letter, this is what happens. An easier way is to use the Fallout Mod Manager to install mods in Fallout 3. You should use Old FOMM if you just have Fallout 3 and New FOMM if you have both Fallout:New Vegas and Fallout 3.

schaine - Hello!

"how do I get Craft.esm? I found a mod on here called Craft, which is an ESM file"

CRAFT is Community Resource to Allow Fanmade Tinkering & can be found here:

http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/4447

"but im pretty sure its something else, isnt it? It doesnt state its affiliated with FWE"

CRAFT can be used with or without FWE, FWE however does require it to run. It's often packaged with FWE too.

"What would be the best way of adding it? Simply reinstalling FWE?"

No need to reinstall FWE, you can just add in CRAFT.

Ok i found out how to actually fix the load order manually (with the help of FO3Edit). There were tons of issues. Im now fixing them. This should be it. If theres further problems, i will write here.

EDIT:

Its working now. Thank you
