Arsentic - Hello!

"Before you say anything, I already did the bluethreader=2 thing or whatever and set that on 2. "

You mean bUseThreadedAI=1 & iNumHWThreads=2, important that you did them correctly. :smile:

Freezing in Fallout 3 is almost always the Fallout 3 multi core bug, the randomness & frequency you're having also sounds like it.

Fallout 3 has trouble with multi core computers, mainly with ones that have more than two cores & use hyperthreading.

A common mistake with the fix is to apply it to the wrong .ini, it's not the Fallout_default.ini that's in your Fallout folder.

The one you want to change is:

For XP:

My Documents\My Games\Fallout3\

For Vista & Win7:

Documents\My Games\Fallout3

The file you want will be called:

FALLOUT.ini

Open the .ini with Notepad & change this line:

bUseThreadedAI=0

to:

bUseThreadedAI=1

& insert this line under it:

iNumHWThreads=2

Save & close your ini.

For help with your load order, go to your mod manager & look for a Load Order tab & Copy to Clipboard so that you can copy & paste it in a post.

Hope this helps!

Please disregard the previous post as the wrong quote was posted with my question. Will this work even if you're not modding?

sithlordguy46,

The change to the fallout.ini is necessary if your CPU has more than two cores. So, the answer to your question is yes.
