I'm stuck on The Launch quest from Lonesome Road dlc

At the end of the quest you're supposed to launch the missile. Well, I have ED-E activate the console, I pull the lever and...nothing. My character is frozen in place with no HUD, just like when a sequence is about to start, but the missile never launches, no matter how long I wait. I use quite a few mods, so I'm pretty sure one is causing the problem. Thing is I have no idea which one, and I was wondering if anybody here has an idea of what type of mod could cause an issue like this. What could prevent a sequence from starting ¿graphics? ¿Weather? ¿Changing interiors? Thanks in advance.

The "missile launch sequence" is a "Bink" (*.bik) file video. So the most likely culprit is anything which prevents a Bink from playing, which is called by the "PlayBink" function. Sometimes this function is bracketed by "ImageSpaceModifiers" (IMODs) to set/reset the scene. "Post processors" (such as "ENB" or "SweetFX/Reshade") can cause problems with IMODs. (See mod "Imod emulator for ENB".)

Try to determine if the freeze is in an IMOD or the actual BIK file. (From your description, I suspect an IMOD and a "post processor" combination.)

Otherwise, any mod affecting the LR worldspace, weather overhauls (such as "Nevada Skies"), or interior lighting; things which are intended to affect DLCs as well as the main game in general. You may need to utilize the procedure laid out in the 'Mod Conflict Isolation' section of the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" article.

When asking for help in the future, Please provide ALL the information requested in the wiki "How to ask for help" article. Don't forget to identify things that do not appear in the "load order", such as the version of Windows, if you are using a "Steam" or "GOG" and/or "regional language version" of the game (even if you are playing it in English); using the FNV4GB Patch, NVSE and it's related plugins; replacements for textures (specifically their larger image sizes: 1024x1024, etc.), animations, or "bodies", etc.; and "post-processors" like ENB or SweetFX. It saves us playing "20 questions" and gets you a more specific answer more quickly. (The usual turn-around on post and reply in an older game forum is 24 hours.) Screenshots of the "load order" don't usually work so well because they tend to cut off or fail to display needed information and are hard to "piece together" into a complete and coherent picture.

* See "How to markup images (etc) in forum posts and comments" article for how to use "Spoiler tags", etc.. "LOOT" already includes those tags in the "load order" it copies to your clipboard, so you can just paste it's list into your post.

Hello again,

I've tried again, but this time I deactivated the mods nevada skies, the interiors project and wasteland flora and terrain overhaul, but nothing, and as far as I know I don't have any mod that affects Lonesome Road specifically. I know you said to check mods that affect IMOD or BIK files, but I don't have the slightest idea which mods in my list are those.

If the mod adds, changes, or removes any "cut scenes" or "special visual effects" (often applied by "consumables" such as food or drugs) then it is a likely candidate. (Don't use it, but suspect JSawyer's mod does.) Chasing down IMODs and Bik files requires examining the internals/code of mods, which is not something for the casual player. Otherwise, there is no way to be sure without examining the code.

Did you move the game out of the default location? If not, as painful as that will be it is absolutely essential before wasting your time on anything else.

If you have moved the game, and are not using a "post processor", then under the circumstances you are going to need to apply the 'Mod Conflict Isolation' procedure.

But first,

* Move any "inactive/disabled" plugins out of the game "Data" folder. They count against the "plugin cap"(see Smaller Plugin Cap) because they get loaded by the game engine if found, and can cause "Missing Master" problems. Please see the wiki "Missing Masters" article if you get that error message.

* Please read the "Checklist" entry "Item #6" regarding the 32-bit drivers requirement in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. Also see the "Issue - Vanilla game Hangs on startup", "Cause 1" entry regarding the specific DirectX9 driver need. (You can have more than one such driver, and even both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the same driver, installed at the same time.)

* Make sure you have run the DXDiag program to configure and test DirectX.

After,

* If you have more than one mod that makes any change to the same record or set of records in the vanilla game, then you really need to use a "Merge Patch File" with that collection of mods. Please see the 'Third Rule: The Rule of One' and 'Merge Patch File' sections of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. When in doubt, create a "Merge Patch" file for your overall "load order" anyway. If you add, remove, or change the sequence of plugins in your "load order", don't forget to rebuild the "merge patch" file again.

Hello again dubiousintent,

I've moved the game, tried deactivating several mods and some of your solutions with no luck. At this point it has become more work than its worth it, but it's ok since I've pretty much finished all I wanted to see in the game, so I'm just going to uninstall it and jump to fallout 4.
I wanted to thank you for your help and advice, I've learned a lot of things about modding that I will apply now to fallout 4  I hope I don't have to come back with more issues, but in any case I'm happy that there's such a helpful community here that keeps creating amazing new content for these games.

Take care.
