To Be Evil, Or Not to Be, That is the Question

You could do corpse insults.

For example: Dress up a dead Stormcloak soldier in Thalmor robes, pile the males on top of eachother without their clothes, cast frenzy on people so they'll attack their

friends (failing that you could slay one, turn him/her into a zombie and thén have it kill his/her friends) etc.

I mean, a person can always come up with RP reasons why they are evil but are still saving everyone from dragons but in the game itself, you're still the hero.

If you're intent on following the main quest, but you don't have to. Alternate start mods, clever console command usage or just ignoring that quest will go a long way to not being that hero in the game.

>

Also, the civil war was done really well so neither side (Imperial vs. Stormcloak) is actually "evil" in anyway, they just have differences in opinion when it comes to how they should deal with things.

What they stand for may not be evil, but how they go about it is sometimes a different matter (and discussed to death in various other threads).

Execution for petty crimes comes to mind.

Thieves guild is also not one I'd consider "evil" in anyway. I mean they have a code about not killing anyone so it is hard for me to consider that evil.

Killing isn't the only way to be evil. The thieves guild robs almost indiscriminately (they leave their own alone, the saints), they intimidate shopkeepers so they'll pay protection money, and plant false evidence on innocents that crossed them/their allies to have those innocents jailed.

I wish I knew how you broke my post down like that as that is cool and would be helpful to me right now lol but to respond to your response:

You should list the mods and the console commands that would allow you to complete Skyrim in an evil way, regardless seems like a lot of work which means that the game mechanic doesn't really allow for you to be evil and complete it at the same time.

BUT like you said, if a person wants to only do the quests that can be considered evil and then wander around doing nothing the rest of the time that the game won't even really acknowledge then yeah, evil you can be Lol.

I don't care what beliefs, organization, movement, etc you pick, there will never be one that doesn't have a few dark people and or deeds with in their history but does that make the entire belief, organization, movement, etc you pick evil? Absolutely not. So liek I said, neither of those sides are evil they just have some people that are and last time I checked you don't have to be evil to do the wrong thing in a situation. Yeah that officer just decided to execute me for crossing a border and some guy who stole a horse, but they weren't doing it out of evil.

Wrong and evil are not the same things too. A lot of kids do things that are wrong all the time, but they certainly aren't evil and I'm sorry, but you won't convince me that some thief who refuses to kill is evil when there are evil beings out there who would laugh if you told them you were evil just because you steal from anyone. I'm not evil and I laugh at that haha. There's daedric princes that wouldn't let you shine their non existent shoes if that was all you did in your life.

Wrong and evil may share a spectrum but they aren't the same. Evil is about committing acts that most consider unspeakable no matter the circumstances so yeah, I'd say to be truly evil you have to (despite having other choices) sacrifice, kill, and or torture innocent people and or friends and or good people. Otherwise you aren't playing an evil character, you're just playing a renegade at worst.

  1. Get Cloaks of Skyrim. No self-respecting evil character walks around without a grand and flowing cape.
  2. Find yourself some rags and a red cloak to wear.
  3. Begin the Dawnguard questline.
  4. Join Lord Harkon and become a Vampire Lord.
  5. Anytime you shift into Vampire Lord form, shout: "Ancient spirits of evil, transform this decayed form to Mumm-Ra, the Ever-Living!"
  6. Repeatedly fail to conquer Skyrim.

Bonus points if you get yourself a Khajiit or Argonian follower minion to blame for your failures.

This is where I think Skyrim has a weak spot. If you do become evil will anyone really notice?

Now, in life, there are always rules. (See post above mine).
You can't simply become evil... Way to easy. First you have to look evil. Regardless of what many may tell you-Walking into town wearing a bright pink armour set does not look evil.
Yes, of course you would look fabulous, but I am guessing that not the look your after.
Frolicking, skipping and talking with your hands are also not evil. Trust me on this...

Let's just start with the basics: Armour/Looks; A deep, dark black armour with lots of spikes will gain you lots of points in the evil toon area. Even then you have to be careful. You can't just wear any black armour. It has to have a evil name to it. The Half Eaten Heart armour of Thor is good, err evil. Something that sounds mean and manly! It almost makes your want to spit and itch yourself! The point is that all of your stuff has to have some sort of evil name to it. Winkiedink sword of the Seattle just won't do.

Work on your glare, have a buffed up toon that looks like Arnold and kill lots and lots of people and you are on your way to becoming truly evil!

Make us proud!

my choice of evil is usually dagger/poison with conjuration, though, i think it's impossible to be the evil hero so all you can do is stalk about killing people. if you have time to notice everyone still being nice to you then you're just not killing enough.

does anyone else cringe when people post the word toon. something evil about that.

What BlackRampage said.

Other factions to consider are the Thieves Guild, the Volkihar vampires (Dawnguard expansion), and certain other evil factions can be "joined" by using console commands.

If you as a player feel that one side of the Civil War is clearly in the wrong, you could join them aswell.

Oh and as a personal favor, kill Delphine.

Speaking of Delphine whenever she tells me to "keep an eye on the sky this is only going to worse," I find my myself blurting out, "no it isn't!" Delphine and her Mentor are two extremely paranoid individuals. I generally play the honest, forthright hero or heroine, but there are times when I will outright kill Skooma dealers or the Thalmor, in my travels across Skyrim. I have killed Thalmor who have had notes on them from their Embassy authorizing the Thalmor to kill me on sight.
