BloodWindBal
My fav. gaming style would be Roleplaying, i like to take control of a character, making him/her do what i like, most fun ever I also like RTS they are alot of fun as well, but hasn't had and good games at late, only good one i reckon would be Command and Conquer: Zero Hour Then last fav. is Horror, always fun to play a scary game with friends scare the poo out of them. 1st: RPG2nd: RTS3rd: Horror my top three
UberBender
all the new RTS's suck 'cept Rise of Nations. They are all about graphics nowadays. RPGs are fun but they take a while to make.
.:Imrahil:.
No. the Total War games are about strategy. Except Rome: Total War, that's about graphics too.
Untouchable1
1: RPG2: Shooters (fps or 3ps, doesn't matter to me)3: RTS[would have included MMORPGS but my connection suxrs so i cant play em...] RPG's to me are just more fulfilling in the end. And, given the usualy long hours of play, are more play time for your money. It's just really fun watching your character grow and learn new things about the new world just as you are. plus they usually put a lot of visuals in today's RPG's so you can see your awesome armor and badass blade with highest detail possible, which is a lot more intricate than some bullet proof vest. I also like Shooters mostly because they all have a reputation for having huge multiplayer playability. Not that all shooters lack in the single player campaign, but RPGs are more satisfyable in that. Shooters just beg to be plugged into four boxes and played by sixteen people at a time. And that is just plain cool. I always like RTS games from when C&C came out for N64. It sucked, yes, but that was my first taste into RTS and i got nearly all the other C&C titles until Generals came out, which I heard EA screwed up. I also got Empire Earth and thought that the scenario/campaign editor should be the next step in RTS games. But my all time favorite RTS game was C&C Tiberian Sun: Firestorm. Get FinalSun Level Creator and SunEdit 2k and you'll be really into that game. *sigh* Too bad nobody ever gets on the server anymore...
Switch
Well, with me it would be... 1: RPG2: MMORPG3: FPS RPGs, quite simply... have depth. All games have some vague storyline and character base nowadays but RPGs have the most. And of course the gameplay can be pretty addictive too ;) MMORPGs always have less storyline and depth than RPGs IMO but I just generally find them very addictive :P plus it's nice to interact with other players in game. Most I've grown bored of within 2 weeks but with Final Fantasy XI I've been a member for about 8 months now. Great game ^^ FPSes are great for letting out your destructive side I think :P especially Halo. They make a nice change from RPGs where a lot of thinking is involved, you just point, and shoot. postaldudeleo
Yeah doom 3 rules at the destructive side. Red faction second. Halo 3rd but has the best storyline of the 3.
valdir
I believe the word your looking for is genre not "type" of game. So this is like, OUR top three? Okay... 1)Action. Screw you guys, I have a short attention span, and a bad case of Gamer's ADD. 2).... 3) RPGs. Stats are sometimes fun. Baldur's Gate, Fallout, fugging Morrowind and the occasional console "arPG". Okay, so I don't even like RPGs THAT much, and I don't really like any other genres. Except maybe Racing. Rally racing, Project Gotham etc... That's pretty much it *dot dot dot x10* ~Valdir
wallernotsowelsh
Just a sidenote but isnt a MMORPG still a RPG? Just a thought, anyway: 1. RPG same reasons as above really2. Have to be a good ol' shoot em up (online one is better, like Enemy Terrority)2. Also ranked second is . . . . RTS, especially the total war series, medieval is my favourite, played it for yonks now and still not bored)
FlightlessBird
I'd hafta say my favorite would be.. well i like most games that have a good story line and decent graphics. although, certain games like the original mario games and some Nintendo64 games with not-so-good graphics are really fun. the only games i really dont like to play are racing. I just can't appreciate them. something must be keeping me from likeing them. *causiously backs away for fear of his saftey from the racing fans...*
Darnoc
RPG rules, because those games acctually can tell good stories and you have longer gameplay than in other genres. Next come Thief-like games. OK, Thief is a class for its own, nothing comparable out there. And don't come with Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell is an action game trying to copy thief-methods. But Thief is really about sneaking, stealing and finding different ways to acchieve this. And there is the middle-age-industrial-age mix of thief which really works. As a plus, the Thief-games acctually got a good storyline. Strategy-games are sometimes fun, if they are good. Like Civilization, AoE 2, StarCraft, The Total-War-Series, Stronghold. FPS, mostly I don't like them. They are too simple for my taste. I liked Half-Life tough, and also Unreal for creating a great atmosphere (I acctually wrote a Unreal-novel but never published it, can't do it without the rights). And then there is Deus Ex, mix between RPG, Action and Thief and it is really great.
