Many problems with skyrim and mods (new player)

Hello! 7 hours ago i dowloaded again Skyrim, i asked which version wa the best and i choose the Skyrim Special Edition. I started look around and downloaded Vortex from Nexus. Some years ago i played for like 72 hours skyrim , with mods, and it was much much easier (at least for me) get all the mod i wanted and start play the game.

I followed many guides ecc but i've got way too many problems with mods and expecially this damn SKSE 64 . At the start i dowloaded all the stuff, skse 64 and all the rest first for avoid problems, after the rest.

Sadly im really noob in this modding stuff , more than noob im really dumb , i absolutely don't know what to do.

When i was done with the last mod i simple started the game and the first problem was a pop up window with written on "SKSE 64 version 0.0.0.0 ecc" plus another problem with "RaceMenu" i think. I manage to fix it? i supposed because the window didn't pop up anymore. For be sure to have skse64 working i manually installed and check both on Vortex and in game menu with the \ command , as told in a video and it is working (i supposed). Sadly the worst part is: When i start the game the intro cart start flip over and over non stop, and at the end of the intro the cart stuck me and all the npcs inside the trees making me unable to even progress with a single step.

I tried so many things, mod for fix that bug, fps lock mod, fps locking in NVIDIA panel. Sadly i don't know how activate the Vsynch, i've tried so much but i cant' find the option anywhere.

I don't know what i should do at this point. Plus everytime i start i have the same window popup with "Vigilante: SKSE is not enable" or something like this at that is the moment where the cart start flipping all over. Last thing is now when i start the client and i select "new game" the windows don't tell anymore that my mods have been loaded. It just write if i want start a new game and nothing else. Is this normal?

Should i delete all and download everything again? Ther's not an easier way to install modes? Maybe i should try delete some mods? DId i f*#@ed up 7 times in installing skse64? i have 43 mods currently , maybe those are too much ? I have so many question and here are 2: 45 am so im so tired .

Im sorry for the bad english, and sorry if this is the wrong section. My first time here. Hope you can help me.

First off, did you start the game up without any mods installed to create the necessary INI files? I sure hope so.

Second, it is almost never a good idea to start up the game with mods installed and expect the opening sequence to run without any issues. If you want to start the game with all your mods active, use an alternate start mod such as Alternate Start: Live Another Life. Otherwise, only activate the mods necessary for your characters appearance (body, hair, eyes, etc). Run the stock start, get through character creation and all the opening scenes. At minimum, once your hands have been freed just inside Helgen can you activate the other mods. However, it is also recommended to go ahead and finish of the Helgen dungeon as it is a tutorial of sorts and activate the mods once out of the cave.

As far as SKSE goes, if you are using Skyrim Special Edition you need to make sure that you have SKSE 64 installed rather than the SKSE for 32 bit Skyrim. Vortex should have a link to SKSE 64 that you can use to run it, use that whenever you want to play the game. Should you ever start the game without SKSE, your SKSE dependent mods will not work properly if they even try to work at all.

There are a few good tutorials on YouTube that show how to correctly install SKSE, I used them my first time and it made it pretty painless, helps if you have an IPad or similar to follow along as it’s explained.

Also look into downloading something called FNIS also available on Nexus, trust me if you do any real modding you’re going to need it anyway, same thing, lots of tutorials on YouTube.

Always start the game via SKSE rather than from Steam or it won’t run right.

And as IsharaMeradin said, start a vanilla game before loading or launching any mods, right now your best bet would be to disable them via Vortex rather than deleting and reloading them.

Once you’ve played to the first save point in the game, you can save, log out, and enable the mods you downloaded.

they should then run correctly.

One final question, where did you download Skyrim SE from?

If it wasn’t from Steam, you may be running a pirated version which will never run right (if at all) with Nexus downloads.

INI files? I've heard about this before but i don't even know what is sadly. And yes i've didn't start the game before modding it, i tough it wasn't a problem. If i disable all the mods and play it normally it will crate this file? Or i have to uninstall everything?

Well on the page of SKSE i've downloaded the SE version, and it's the 64 one (pretty sure of this). Plus should i have a bethesda account? i don't have one

It's the official version from steam, i've got this while ago because i owned skyrim the original one i think? I just found it in my Library.

You only need a Bethesda account to download the 64 bit Creation Kit should you ever wish to use it.

As far as the INI files, I would recommend disabling all mods (not the plugins but the entire mod) as you want no mod files getting in the way. Vortex should have a method of doing this, but I don't use Vortex and thus cannot explain how. Go into Steam and verify the files for Skyrim SE. Open your documents folder and go to "My Games > Skyrim Special Edition". If present delete Skyrim.ini & SkyrimPrefs.ini. Start the game up with its standard launcher, it should say something about setting up graphics or some such for the first time. After that, you can exit as all necessary files will now be present.
