firepower02
I just downloaded a character, inside the zip file is 1 .esp file. I also download the required mods and installed them all in data folder. I checked the launcher data files and even tried loading it first. It still crashes my game, right after the Bethesda loading screen it exits. If I remove the file, the game will load fine. I thought there might e something wrong with the download, so I tried downloading other companions, but it still doesn't work. I already tested 3 different files.
Edited April 29, 2013 by firepower02
rhowington
It sounds like you are missing a necessary hair mod, What mod did you download?
firepower02
I downloaded Spike. He requires the ApachiiSkyHair_v_1_5_Full-10168-1-5-Full file, which I have installed. The game still crashes.
rhowington
Try using one of my standalone followers and see if you still CDT. My followers do not require anything but skyrim.esm and update.esm and your game be updated to 1.9. If you do it isn't the follower mod. TonyTitan
Do you have Spike placed in your load order AFTER Apachii Hair? You could also try to just launch your game with Apachii and Spike...see if that works.
rhowington
I just downloaded Spike and tested. It causes an immediate CDT for me as well.
firepower02
Hi, do you have male companions? I have other companion mods and they have a .esp and a .esm file. Spike has only 1 file, I think although not sure that this might be the cause. If you have tried spike and it didn't work for you as well, maybe the problem could be with the spike file,
mellophonist
Do you run BOSS on your load order? I know it sounds like a stupid question to ask, but there has been one a many time where I just had a simple load order issue.
rhowington
I looked at the esp in CK and it had an unknown.esm attached that I couldn't remove. I tried to open it in TES5edit and got and error message and TES5edit closed. I have a WIP mod you can download here . He is located in the stormcloak camp outside of Dragon Bridge. Let me know what you think.
mellophonist
That just sounds like a poorly cleaned mod then, to the OP you might just have to give up on this mod if it has unknown .esm's
