grismo
can someone tell me what the difference between morrowind vardenfell (sp?) and tamriel is?
Maquissar
Tamriel: a continent in the world of Nirn that encloses the realms of (from west to east, and from north to south) High Rock (Bretons) NORTHWESTSkyrim (Nords) NORTHMorrowind (Dunmer) NORTHEASTHammerfell (Redguards) WESTCyrodil (Imperials) CENTRE and EASTValenwood (Wood Elves) SOUTHWESTElsweyr (Khajit) SOUTHBlack Marsh (Argonians) SOUTHEAST Furthermore, there is an island to the southwest of Valenwood, called Sumurset Isle, where the High elves are. Tamriel is not the only continent in Nirn, however. There are the continents ofAtmora, Akavir, Aldmeris and Yokuda. It seems however that Yokuda and Aldmeris do not exist anymore, due to a huge catastrophe that struck the two continents. About Morrowind: it is the northeasternmost province of Tamriel, and Vvardenfell is only part of it: it is its central island, where the volcano lies. The city of Mournhold, which you will be able to visit if you have bought the Tribunal expansion, is in Morrowind, but out of Vvardenfell. I already knew most of this information, but nonetheless I checked it on a "Tamriel Encyclopaedia" which is, however, in French. If you happen to know the language, the link is: http://www.euro-morrowind.com/tamriel/ There are some sites in English too, I think, and you can find the links in the French page, but I haven't been able to access to them. suzerain
Awesome, a triple post! Wow I've never seen one o' these before. Good job on providing some solid info, Maski. ~Val I manged a quadruple post at exactly the same time in the MeMod Team forums, when the forums went down.fortunately I've got enough moderator access that I could delete it before anyone spotted. :)
Maquissar
Wow... my first triple post... let me explain though: - I read Grismo's post.- I collected information to answer him.- I started writing my post. At the same time, the forums went down, but I didn't notice.- I tried three times to post, but it would go to a PAGE NOT FOUND page.- I gave up and thought "Oh well, I'll post later", but apparently there's no need for that :) Now, can a moderator remove two of my posts? Switch
Yeah, that happens sometimes. It's best just to press the reply button once, and if it doesn't work copy and paste it to a text document and save it for later when the forums are back up. :P I split the two posts off anyway so you won't loose any postcount as they weren't deleted. Slaiv
Vvardenfell:http://til.gamingsource.co.uk/maps/vvardenfell_map.jpg Morrowind:http://til.gamingsource.co.uk/maps/concept_morrowind.jpg Vvardenfell is just the island in the middle. Morrowind is everything around it.
Maquissar
Thanks, Switch... I'll keep it in mind for the next time the server crashes :) Grismo, you may also want to check this map... this is Tamriel, the continent whereMorrowind lies. http://members.shaw.ca/rado907/maps/big-tamriel.jpg . I don't know if a map of Nirn, with the other continents, exists. I think that this map is outdated, however, as the guys in Bethesda probably hadn'tmade up their minds as to where the city of Ebonheart was... in this map, it is inthe Morrowind mainland. In TESIII: Morrowind, it was in the island of Vvardenfell.Unless two Ebonheart exist... I wouldn't know.
grismo
in the other elder scrolls games can you travel to all of tamriel?
Switch
I believe so. In a way. I'm not sure about Arena, but I'm sure Daggerfall lets you explore a lot of Tamriel. Though it has a system where it randomly generates terrain I believe so it goes on forever. Hence, you're not really actually exploring Tamriel. ;P Geez. *Watches thread distort incredibly* Maybe next time you could just post links instead of the actual images :P
