Adding Objects to and existing armor

I am trying to create a custom armor using existing skyrim meshes. I took the minersclothes as a base with a new texture and want to add pauldrons and bags from other existing skyrim meshes. I can export the parts that I want, texture them and generally make them look great in nifskope but when I try to preview them in the CK the bags and other extra armor items that have been added to the original minersclothes base become warped and glitch like crazy, does anyone know an easy to follow tutorial that can tell me how to correctly add multiple meshes to and existing skyrim mesh? all the ones i have found are for custom armors created in Blender/3DS Max and do not cover the issues i am having.
