Shelecktra
So yeah, basically as the topic describes. Im trying to create a mod at the moment and its the 1st mod ive tried to create since Morrowind, so the new CK is a little different to what i was used to originally. Im creating this mod and im up to inputting the NPC's i want to put in and in the Actor Window where im trying to create the actors i cant extend the window to include the render window, theres an arrow coming up when i try to extend it but the window dosnt budge at all. Ive tried loading up the SkyrimEditorPrefs.ini and changing the iPreviewW= value to 1000 but still nothing changes. Im really at a loss here, and i dont particularly want to end up having to do a trial and error on this one, i have a lot of npc's to create for this one! bcofer
Try lowering your windows font size. On my rig the letters in the CK box take too much of the available room for the pop-up window size.
Shelecktra
Do you mean my windows (OS) font size or my windows (CK) font size? And if my CK font size could you show me how? Ive tried looking for a setting myself but not found anything So i tried to change some settings in Windows (OS) and nothing alters anything to do with CK... bcofer
Does on mine. In WIN7, right click a blank area of the basic desktop screen (CK not running), see small blue text near bottom of the change resolutions screen that pops up, click where it says make text and other items smaller. Look at which of the three buttoms is currently hughlighted. I suspect, like me, it's medium or large. If so, go to small (100%). If its already on small, you're screwed. If was medium, say, change to small/100%. If you did change, right now you are damning me because all the icons are in the wrong place. Don't worry. Find the CK icon, open it up, and see if the body preview works. If it is still too small, you're screwed. If it works, good! When you exit the CK, just reverse the text size steps to where it was before, and all your desktop icons will fly back to the correct spots. mellophonist
Some of the windows in the CK can't be re-sized for whatever reason, however there is a pretty simple workaround I found out, its a program that lets you alt click a window and move it wherever you want. The download can be found here. And don't worry the file is safe to use, I've been using it myself for well over four months with no problems. Spyderlord
I am having the same issue with the FO4 creation kit, which is basically the same editor. Alt+drag is great, but for some reason on windows 10 it will stop working, probably because of windows security or something. Resizing my windows text size shows the whole actor window but there are areas where you can't read what the checkboxes are for. I am going to try to change my resolution from 1776x1000 to larger and see if that does anything.
Valyn81
Thanks to Agentsmith on the Bethesda forums: in the " CreationKitPref.ini " , search the line named " iPreviewH=1000 " , also modify " iPreviewW=1000 " , u can put over 1000 , if u have a bigger screen https://community.bethesda.net/thread/10341?start=0&tstart=
NexusComa
The window is a set width and the problem most likely is your display is to small to show the entire window.Try changing your windows resolution to a larger one. This will give the interface enough pixels to show.
ZachsKatana
Welp, I found an annoying way to fix it!Go into your 'Display settings'Now you will see 'Scale and Layout'Look for 'Orientation'You will have to flip your pc or monitor sideways. Now.... go from 'Landscape' to 'portrait'Now if your like me, you can find it annoying, so only do it if you need to click 'ok' when you have those stupid un-size-able windows!
