exanimis
I wanted to do a small tribute to Frank Frazetta in my Pellucidar mod. I started on a statue of the Death Dealer that will stand on a hill. After seeing the horse beside an Oblivion horse I thought that this would make a great stand alone mod. I would like to release these horses to the public but have yet to accomplish the animation and texturing needed for this to be accomplished. I am asking for help from those more knowledgeable than I in the processes so please PM me with any advice you may have to offer. I am not really interested in credit and will gladly place someone else as the creator and developer of this mod when finished. I'm not trying to make a name for myself, I'm trying to make the mods that I would want to play. http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/crossbones59/Pellucidar/DeathdealerB.jpg http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/crossbones59/Pellucidar/dd2.jpg http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/crossbones59/Pellucidar/horses.jpg Thanks everyone X
exanimis
Also, I know that the mesh needs a lot of corrections and tweaking. I should have the mesh, the skeleton and the weightpainting done within a week. I need help with the animation and texturing. I know next to nothing about the Gimp and Nifskope. I've been working on getting my own creatures into the game but have had little success so far.
Vagrant0
I'm not seeing it... How are these very different from the normal horses in Oblivion? Not being critical of the idea, just seeing if I could save you some time modeling and animating.
exanimis
They are larger with shorter more powerful legs. I made them more robust, they have a shorter face. I could go into all the changes but the list would be much longer than I think people would want to read. It is just a horse but I think they are a more powerful looking species. I just thought that maybe people would be interested in them. I'm asking for help because that help will assure that I learn what I need to get my own creatures into the game. If there isn't enough interest in this then I'll just let the thread die and continue with the making of my statue.
Vagrant0
Try adjusting the mesh slightly, and just weighting it to the horse skeleton. The slightly different proportions should be manageable with a little creative weighting.

This is nitpicking of course, but strictly speaking it would make more sense to have draft horses in the game rather than riding horses, as draft horses were originally bred for taking armored knights into battle. Exanimis, you could ask Slof for permission to use her horse textures or make the downloading of Slof's horses a requirement for this to work, then you wouldn't have to worry about textures. Just my 2¢. And totally out of the blue, I thought I'd toss in a factoid that nobody will care about. There's a breed of draft horse known as a Breton. I used to know a lot about horses when I was a little girl, even had horses of my own, but they were ponies, quarter horses and thoroughbreds. Well I agree that you should try parenting it to the existing skeleton, and tweak your mesh to work with it, because you can keep the stocky clydesdale appearance with that skeleton. exanimis
http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/crossbones59/Pellucidar/WHTex.jpg I'm one step closer, I'm working on weightpainting him to the oblivion horse skeleton. We'll have to see what happens. One question though, is there a way to add them to the game without replacing the existing horses?
