Chubbypuppy
so we all know that skyboost is not compatible with 1.9.32.0 of skyrim. that bothers me, because the latest version is required in some of the many mods i use, and therefore, i cant get the better performance that skyboost offered. now, i know that Hialgoboost exists, but i have a big problem with this one. instead of editing the executables like skyboost to remove unnecessary stuff in there (i´m no expert, don't judge me for my knowledge), hialgoboost actually comes with a tradeoff. visuals. now, as i´m sure many other people are, i´m a sucker for good looking games. especially when its accompanied with awesome gameplay like this one. and i don´t wanna be distracted by pop-in/pop-out texturequality just to gain a 20 extra frames when i turn. that definitely distracts me, and take away a huge chunk of the immersion. i want this mod happening because i run a gtx 670, and a 3750k. (all other components are up to par also, trust me), and yet i´m getting 39 fps at some points. to be fair, that was with a whole bunch of mods (up to around 130 at a time, 30-40 of them beautification). but i also tested the vanilla version and got as bad as 55... i´ve played far cry 3 which really blows vanilla skyrim away when it comes to visuals, and it never touched 58 (i always play with vsync)its simple math. i could go on and on about why we need this, but i´m sure you understand by now. things doesn´t add up. i have little modding experience, but i´m sure its very complicated to make something like this happen, but if someone did, it´d be very much appreciated :) thanks
EndtheMadness
I have a gtx670 and a 2600k and I play on 1440p and I have a tonne of mods and I don't track my framrate but my skyrim is perfectly playable.... At least, it was for months. Now i sometimes slows right sown and I can hear my computer grinding away. It drives me nuts. It never used to happen. jogsta
short question - doesn't skyrim get bigger and bigger by the time you're playing? because this might also cause problems...sure, the graphics and places and what not are the same, but the more random events you have the more it has to calculate thus leading to lags and stuttering. we all know skyrim doesn't have the best calculations...so am i on a right path with my thought or am i horribly wrong? TH3CR4PM4N
@ jogsta no that only happens in sims
Hyacathusarullistad
No, it doesn't. It happens with every game, especially games like Skyrim, where it records and maintains the state of dozens of individual cells for entire in-game months. This does indeed make for a larger save file. This file does indeed tend to get larger and larger the longer you play, especially if you're playing with mods and even more so if those mods contain multiple scripts. That being said, you generally don't need to worry about the size of your save file unless you see significant, sudden, seemingly random changes in your save file's size. Anything below 20MB and you're generally not going to have a problem. Even once you hit 20-22MB, it's not worth worrying about unless you're having problems in game. Once it breaks 25MB, though, it's time to consider running a save cleaner. EDIT: I didn't realise before posting how old this thread was when TH3CR4PM4N replied... this threads over a year old, and the person you're replying too hasn't been online since the end of May 2013.
