but then it runs into a little problem - modding

i kinda thought we were talking about aspects of the actual game, the devs creation. apparently not. modding does have its advantages over fable.

Still, at least in MW you can't have sex with another man.

nasty. well maybe thats just a ploy to draw in a broader spectrum of buyers.

The XcretementBox is an outdated piece of hardware, does not support modding (most important feature of good games), controllers suck, it's owned by satan-brood, what else do I have to bring up?

outdated, yes. but the 'satan-brood' owns your comp. and everything you do with it. unless you have a mac (no hate).

I piss on Halo either way.

ditto.

Don't own a X-box and don't plan on buying one..

lets say someone does have an xbox and a half crappy pc that can barely even support MW. or not one at all. fable would be a fresh breath of open rpg air.

It doesn't matter which is better. They're both great games, and so anyone who can should pick them up.

Oh, and you can't "change [MW] in any way you want. At least, not without modding. What you do in MW doesn't really affect the world around you at all, except killing people.

In a way, modding is a creation of the devs, especially in Morrowind. They gave you a Construction Set and built the game in such a way that simple modding, at least, is a easy as hell. Even I, the person with the same sort of level of skill at modding other games as a dead hedgehog, can make some mods for Morrowind.

No it doesn't. Yes, Windows is a Microsoft product, as is my mouse and keyboard. Nothing else made by Microsoft is currently on my machine - software or hardware.

The graphics are way better than MW.

I wouldn't say so. Have a look at these two:

Top one's Fable. Fable looks far too cartoony and there's things like jaggies on the pier supports. However, Fable is still a game in development, so perhaps I'm being a bit too harsh.

Compare/ Contrast

Fable

Main Quest: 16 hours of gameplay

Side Quests: about 30-45 hours of gameplay depending on the reviewer

Cost: between $50 and 60

System: X-Box

Morrowind GOTY (Game of the Year because it rocks)

Main Quest: 30-40 hours of gameplay

Side Quests: hundreds of hours of gameplay depending on the player

Cost: about $30

System: X-Box and PC

I will leave the decision to you.

I'd call it more of a tie. Both games have flaws, but both games cover up their own flaws. Too bad they didn't combine and make a super game....

Anyways, I would have to say that Fable has better graphics. The character models are better and the lighting is amazing. Walking in a forest during the day is a treat. The shadows cast by the trees look very very realistic. It's hard to determine whether the houses and background is better because the shadows cast upon these things makes almost everything look realistic.

Zooming in to your character will show that the character models are better in graphics. The characters have expressions and hair moves/looks real. Blood also looks pretty realistic in this game compared to Morrowind. Morrowind's blood looked like....i don't really know what it looked like, but it wasn't blood.

When it comes to realism though, i'm not sure who dominates. In Morrowind, you have a certain freedom in that you can go virtually everywhere, where as in Fable you are restricted to your path. However, Fable does a better job of making you feel known and important. People everywhere in Fable know of your good or bad deeds and call you by your respected name (even arseface). In Morrowind, you just seem like a character in the background until very later in the game.

There are more little things in Fable such as showing off a trophy, breaking windows, having a sex life, and bar games. But Morrowind has a more complex magic system, and alchemy.

I think I like Morrowind's tone more though. There is no useless comedy in Morrowind. I kinda dislike the large appendages in Fable, but not enough to deter the fact that the game is great. But Fable's combat system is more serious in that the blood looks real and you can lob a head off.

Speaking of combat system, Fable's is ten times better than Morrowind's. Some people may think of it being a hack-n-slash in Fable, but it isn't. There takes actual skill to fight, and you get more experience points by not getting hit, so skilled fighters are rewarded. You need to know when to switch from bow/melee/magic quickly.

Both are great in replay value

Altogether, I think they are pretty much tied. Like I said, they should combine these games and make the greatest game ever. Morrowable.

Or "Fablewind." :P

All and all, I would have to say Morrowind wins over. But, like I said, you can play both of them anyway, so go do it.

P.S. This made my day:
