Are freezes and CTDs different?

EDIT:

Found out the cause of my freezes and CTDs and it's a big problem. My Papyrus log has hundreds even thousands of errors caused mainly by mods I wanted to uninstall but couldn't cause my game CTDs on startup when I delete files associated with them so I just unticked them and played on. See my post further below please, I need help bad.

Hmmm this looks like a memory leak to me.. Skyrim tends to do that a lot and it gets more frequent with more mods or texture/model replacers installed as i noticed

 

 

And about crash on startup when deleting esps's BE SURE to uninstall desired mods completley not only esps this can avoid future problems

I see, I saw a guide somewhere here in the Nexus which involved some program called MemClean or something to fix memory leaks, I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

An early freeze is an inherent Skyrim instability, often emphasised by large amounts of mods, or poorly made ones. A later one is often depleted memory like the user above says.

 

CTDs are always (in my experience) caused by mod conflicts and instability.

PROBLEM:

I may have found my problem and its a big one. I just enabled Papyrus logging and I was blasted by the number of errors.

It seems ASIS errors make up about 80% of my errors. I first installed ASIS and when I started experiencing CTDs I turned off "Increased Spawns" and "Random Spawns" thinking those are eating all of my VRAM. I can't quite uninstall ASIS cause of startup CTDs once I delete the files.

Here is the begining of my log: I goes on and on and on and on the file is a HUGE wall of errors. What are these "Property on blabla script attached to xxxx cannot be bound because <NULL form>xxxxx is not the right type" errors? I noticed those errors are ALL from previous mods I used and couldn't uninstall cause when I delete the files associated with that mod Skyrim CTDs on startup. I just unticked them and left them.... I couldn't even start a new game cause of the startup CTDs. How can I remove these please? I checked my scripts folder and found out that these scripts are no longer in that folder...

Damn it, I think I'm screwed and need to reinstall the game and mods................................................ Though my CTDs and freezes are not that often but I'm sure it'll get worse in time.

If you think the cause of your CTDs is the orphan data left in your save games by mods you 'uninstalled', then the only real solution is to start a new game.

I'm gonna test if a new save will still have those scripts, I couldn't uninstall those mods cause of startup CTDs. (I manually install mods and manually delete them) when I start a new game the mods are still there, they are just deactivated.

Since you haven't provided much information about what mods you use and what mods you are trying to uninstall (and thus, what scripts are running), I can't really answer any of question. If you think you 'messed up' (would need details on what you think you might have done 'wrong'), you can also delete all the mods, verify game files via Steam, and start fresh, this time selecting a smaller list of 'essential' mods you won't want to pull out in the middle of a playthrough.

Sorry bout that, I've found out why I was getting startup CTDs upon uninstalling certain mods. I had to rebuild all my SkyProc patches before uninstalling. I think my problem is script congestion based on my Papyrus logs, I got hundreds of error lines coming from ASIS. But now, I've successfully uninstalled Economics of Skyrim, Hypothermia, SIM NPC Immersion Mod and ASIS. It seems my ReProccer.esp and Automatic Variants.esp had those included in the patch when they were actually disabled. Maybe that was causing all the error logs. I will check tomorrow it's 4am here lol
