I recently installed two mods, immersive interiors and all natural. All natural requires OBSE which I installed into my Oblivion directory. When I open Oblivion using the OBSE Exe the game immediately crashes. I did a fresh install of oblivion and have no other mods besides these two currently. I cannot figure out what is causing the crash. Here is what I have done and what I have.

I have the game of the year edition, 64 bit vista with Oblivion installed into C:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion

Both Mods were installed using Wrye Bash ( which I haven't used previously) but from what I can see they were installed properly. I am using OBSE 20.6 I have attached my Boss load order. I would really like to try these mods and am frustrated that I cannot get them to run properly. I'm not sure if it is OBSE or the mods. I would appreciate if someone could take a look and help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. If any other info is needed please let me know! thanks in advance!

I can't see anything wrong with your load order there. Just confirming that you're using the retail version of Oblivion and not the Steam version is that right? And it's not a downloadable from other stores like Direct2Drive?

Does the game run if you use the regular launcher and not the OBSE one?

Were obse_1_2_416.dll, obse_editor_1_2.dll, and obse_loader.exe installed to C:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion and NOT C:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data ?

As well as the previous advice, you mentioned that you haven't used Wrye Bash before. Are you certain that you built your Bashed Patch correctly? Also, a load order taken from Wrye Bash is much more helpful.

First off, thank you both for replying. I am using a retail game of the year edition. The game does not run using the default exe file. I have the correct dll files installed from OBSE. As far as using Wyrebash I am not certain if I build the bashed patch correctly, I have been playing modded oblivion for a while however my mods were always manually installed or installed via Nexus mod manager so my problems are most likely stemming from lack of knowledge around Wyrebash. Here is my load order

Active Mod Files:

00 Oblivion.esm
01 All Natural Base.esm [Version 1.34]
02 DLCShiveringIsles.esp
03 All Natural.esp [Version 1.34]
04 All Natural - SI.esp [Version 1.34]
05 Immersive Interiors.esp [Version 0.8.1]
06 All Natural - Real Lights.esp [Version 1.34]
07 Knights.esp
08 Bashed Patch, 0.esp

Not sure if this helps but I have green check marks next to all mods

Ok, to check if your Bashed Patch is at fault, try disabling it temporarily and restart the game. If your game then runs we can probably assume it's the BP at fault and set about helping you rebuild it.

Then since you have very few mods installed, my suggestion is to completely uninstall Oblivion and clean out (meaning delete) any remaining folders after the uninstall -- it could be a rogue mesh or something. Re-install but do it one mod at a time, checking that the game runs as you go.

Hi guys, when you start out anew, ie re-install the game, the first thing you have to do is start the game via the vanilla game menu! This is the only way to build the ini file! obse will not do this for you. Always play the vanilla opening jail scene, save up and then throw all the obse stuff at it! Same goes for any changes you make to ini settings in my games folder, go through the vanilla start up, it's the only way. It's a geriatric game engine trying to catch up. But we love it!
