aurreth
So having followed a few around to watch them decimate entire armies while travelling (what, doesn't everyone use Sentry bots?) I got to wondering. How does the game determine where they stop in a settlement. I don't mean how do they know where to go, how to get to the settlements you assign them to. I mean how do they know where to stop when they reach their destination. Like at Red Rocket they all stop at a point somewhat near the garage doors, but how does the game designate that point? I'm working an a series of vault mods, and I would like to define the stopping point, so that provisioners stop outside the gear doors rather than get hung up trying to find their way through the vault. Asarjan
As far as i know ... there are several markers at an settlement for example a trader arrival marker. Take a look into some settlements in the ck you will see some blue and red semi transparent boxes ... the blue ones are markers for player fast travel. Maybe these are also used for npc arrival. Was just about to load up Red Rocket, since I know where the point is (I sometimes end up with a dozen bot provisioners there having a conference before heading back out). SKKmods
Provisioners AI package targets the Workshop Location Center Marker. You can see and move it in game with Move Workshop Markers where you can learn more about ... workshop markers. Caravans like carla use a different marker, also find and movable in game. aurreth
Ah, is that what the center marker is for. Gotcha, thanks. I can adjust those easily enough to make sure my packages are getting delivered to the right door  Oh, and he's referring to a mod, Move Workshop Markers by SKK, https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/38738 Edited April 17, 2021 by aurreth
niston
The center marker is, alas, used for other things as well.Furthermore, the Provisioners only travel near (within certain radius) these markers. If you want them to go up close, there is a setting for that; Check https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/39460.
aurreth
Huh, I may have to take that apart and see how he did it. I don't need exact for every settlement, just for five I'm working on. In the meantime I moved the center marker on the office building I'm futzing with to the center of the lobby. Should be close enough.
SKKmods
That solution started by simply pointing a Workshop Map Marker LinkRef at the Workshop Center Marker so I could move it using the Fast Travel mat proxy. Finding markers and making them movable is straightforward. Trying to figure out the undocumented entity relationshps and linkref chains is the tricky bit because there is so much incomprehension and BS wearing authoritative masks out there. aurreth
Well there needs to be a provisioner marker. XMarkerHeading linked to workshop with keyword Provisioner. Something like that. So we can say "deliver it to the loading dock idiot, not to my living room."
niston
Yes, I was looking into this a while ago. Custom markers (as well as "have a Brahmin"/"have no Brahmin"/"have something else" Escort Configuration) would require hacking the workshop scripts, which I didn't do for compatibility reasons. The only half-sane way would be to integrate that functionality into Kinggath's Workshop Framework, as that supplies customized workshop scripts.
