HadToRegister
Wait. How are you even able to run older versions of SKSE64? You are not running the latest version of SkyrimSE, are you? That is why your game lags, the latest SKSE64 was not intended to be run on older versions of the game. It is not backwards compatible. You must use the correct versions together. What version of Skyrim do you have and where is it installed? It's in steam. And no I'm not running older version of Skyrim. The older version of SKSE64 is 2.0.0.17 which is just a step backwards from latest version which means it's compatible with the latest version of skyrim se. Anyways, now I really found out why. Every time I install a new mod, I must relaunch NMM and that removes the lag. Dunno why, dunno what the f is what. Anyways I'll keep you updated if it continues to lag. You should be running SKSE64 2.0.19, runtime version 1.5.97. OK, when you say NMM, do you mean the Community release of NMM aka "Nexus Mod Manager", or are you calling VORTEX, "NMM", because people tend to do that too. If you're using the actual, unsupported NMM, HOW are you Installing SKSE64?Are you installing it MANUALLY, or using NMM to Install it?
steve40
Yeah, OK. I found this possible solution. It may be a keyboard message popup problem: Hello my friend. As a fellow SKSE victim I think I have the solution to your problem. The thing is, just like you did, I uninstalled skyrim and reinstalled the vanilla game (countless times!!!). Without SKSE or any other mod everything was fine. Then I realised to my astonishment that when installed SKSE and only SKSE (NO OTHER MODS!!) it again began to stutter during my game. So why did this happen, why did SKSE cause stutter? It did'nt make any sense. Well one other thing I realised, while using SKSE, was that the stutter began when I hit my caps lock button(to toggle run/walk). "WTF!!" I said to myself. Then I closed the game and then reloded my last save and before stuttering began I went to game settings and remapped that run/walk key to "Y" . And Voila!! "Y" key didn't cause a stutter although I successfully toggled run/walk. And then I hit caps lock button again and there it was. The stutter returned. So the damn culprit was caps lock key. Because that damn button normally brings up a pop up message while in windows with my packard bell notebook in the middle of the screen(in the shape of a lock being opened and closed) which apparently f.cks up SKSE. So I disabled those keyboard messages on my laptop going to task manager and closing an application named launch manager which manages these special key popups in my notebook. And finally my SKSE doesn't stutter anymore EVER!!. Damn I hate computers. (how that CAPS LOCK key can mess up skyrim only while using skse I have no idea!!!!) "So I disabled those keyboard messages on my laptop going to task manager and closing an application named launch manager which manages these special key popups in my notebook. And finally my SKSE doesn't stutter anymore EVER!!" Dude. Dude. Acebi84. Dude. YOU ARE A LIFESAVER. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM FOR THREE YEARS. THREE. YEARS. And there it is. I just tried it, it worked, now I can just kill LManager.exe whenever I boot up SKSErim. Even pinned the Launch Manager application to the Start menu so I can just restore it when I'm done. You are the best. Thank you. Edit: even though it looks like you are using a desktop PC not a laptop, check that you don't have any utilities running that might be intercepting your keyboard presses or trying to display popup messages. Also, try disabling the Steam overlay and any graphics card overlays. Also, you could try switching between fullscreen mode, windowed mode and borderless window mode to see if it makes any difference.
